Edward Carter

Edward shrugged in response to Hinoka's short spiel; again, he had nothing more to say on the matter - he had no ideology or belief, or even hate to speak of. He was no longer even afraid of his nemeses, as jaded as he was towards their horrors; he simply did what he did out of duty. It wasn't as though he disagreed with her either, but at the same time, an exception to the rule was present in everywhere you looked - the usual rule of innocent until proven guilty were reversed in regards to the Eldritch, and in an exception to the exception to the rule, Bea herself was innocent until proven guilty. He supposed it would be better to just leave it at "It's complex" and drop the matter. As for the kitsune herself, Edward had seen through her guise the moment he just really looked at her. Whatever age or form she might have taken, the reality of what she is - or was hiding - would not disappear. Much like Edward could peer through Usthe-Kth's fragile mortal guise, he had seen the divinity that lay dormant beneath Hinoka's frail-looking form. If he was at all intimidated by it, the smile on his face didn't show. "Still, a quiet, peaceful life, huh? Ha-ha, what I wouldn't give for that," he said, chuckling good-naturedly. "For what it's worth, Hinako, I don't disagree with you." He left out that he couldn't agree with her either, but that wasn't something that needed to be said. He then turned to Lily, who had most probably been watching the whole conversation. A dragon, hm? She was the one who was most spooked by Bea; he wasn't aware that Dragons had boogeymen of their own, but then again, he'd never met a dragon before. He wondered if those legends about an ego as massive as their treasure hoards were true? Whelp, only one way to find out. Giving a short bow at the waist, Edward gave the most respectful and pompous sounding greeting he could think of: "Greetings, majestic one, this humble creature would be pleased to meet the acquaintance of one with a countenance as fair and noble as yourself, if you would only permit it." And keeping with proper, gentlemanly, manners, he avoided eye-contact with her and kept bowing until the other girl responded. Inwardly, of course, he was having a great deal of fun with himself. That was when he felt a very familiar sensation slide down his back, and stiffened slightly, but not noticeably. While he may have been jaded to his nemeses in general, he really did not like the feeling of tentacles. It was just so wrong to be touched by them, whatever the intent! Through the corner of his eyes, he saw Bea skipping along outside the auditorium with a little boy in tow. He'd leave her alone this time, but he'd be damned if he didn't get her back for this. Exterminating her wasn't an option for now, but there was no way he was going to be a target of her shenanigans without retaliating! He grinned quietly.
