When I said spiders I was mostly thinking about the size of the ones on peoples' spines, but ferocious in that they'd keep coming after you. A wasp or yellow jacket would've probably been a better analogy. 

[@Renny] Go ahead and work up a CS, you don't really have to know anything about the DC universe. The characters we create only have to be similar in name only, you can completely rework any concept as you wish.
