Jackson and Sakura
"Big brother, I don't feel so well..." Sakura says as she holds onto Jackson's clothing. Jackson kneels down onto the wooden floor and places his right hand on Sakura's dirty hair. As he gazes into Sakura's sparkling eyes, Jackson replies to Sakura, "Don't worry little sis. Some people get sick riding boats." Jackson attempts to force a smile and look as healthy as ever. This doesn't work on Sakura, as she immediately reads his face and discovers that Jackson too is under a spell of sickness. She giggles slightly. "You're sick like I am, big brother!" Sakura exclaims excitingly while point at his face. Jackson give a soft yet hearty laugh in response to his sisters observant eyes. "Yes I am, little sis." As he finishes those words, Jackson recollects on what had just occurred. He realizes that a sum of time has passed since Jackson and Sakura had departed for their new life. As the boat jumped, rocked, and heaved, the two of them stayed within the lodgings that their generous cousin had given them. In their room, Jackson sees the oaken, iron studded door behind Sakura, the sturdy glass windows on the left wall, and a round table in the center of the room that is surrounded by seats that are all fixed to the floor. As Jackson finishes his assessment, he also remembers that behind him are the seats that he and his sister were sitting on and the lacrima lantern that hangs from the ceiling. "Big Brother?" Sakura asks. As she says this, Jackson turns his head to face Sakura. "Yes?" He replies. "I'm bored." Jackson gives a soft chuckle in response to his sisters announcement. "Okay. Do you want to play cards?" As Jackson says those words, Sakura's eyes immediately light up with excitement. She gasps and begins to hop in a circle. "Cards! Cards! Cards! We get to play Cards!" "Yes we do," Jackson says as he watches his sister bounce up and down in jubilee. After a short moment, Jackson lifts himself up with his legs and walks towards table, taking a seat at one of the stationary stools. Sakura giggles happily as she quickly rushes to climb on one of the stools. "Oh, cards! Cards! Cards!" "Yes, cards, Sakura, cards," Jackson says lovingly. From his belt, Jackson procures his magic cards that he had carefully made during his free time. Memories of the effort it took to engrave the backs and to draw the faces of the cards return the fond feelings Jackson had during his time with these cards. Jackson continues to wander through his mind, eventually arriving to his mother. He remembers her love, her caress, her- "Jackson!" Sakura exclaims. "Oh! Sorry little sis!" Immediately Jackson begins to deftly shuffle the cards. As the cards run against his skin, he begins to focus his magic into the cards, causing them to glow slightly. Sakura begins to laugh excitingly in anticipation of the game that the two about to play. The cards gradually get brighter and brighter until they become glowing, pure white. Suddenly, a small cloud of white sparkles explode from the cards, causing Sakura to squeal with thrilling emotion. The cards are dealt out expertly by Jackson. After dealing out five cards to both himself and his sister, Jackson lays out the cards in a rectangular pattern and places the rest in the middle. The game is about to begin.
