Imagine if everyone ignored a depressed person because they didn't want to make them feel worse. That's certainly what they need - to feel more alienated. 

Nobody said that she shouldn't feel the way she feels. And nobody means that. We just want her to feel better.

We're not saying that she should be happy instead of depressed. Her feelings are legitimate. We're trying to change them. Not because they're incorrect, but because they are harmful.

That's how I feel, at least.
