Name: Erich Zann Race: Human Gender: Male Affiliation: Vacuo Human Mercenary Corps Semblance: Call of the Void - Erich is capable of redirecting forces. This ability is, of course, limited by his perception of the forces - something he cannot see or feel cannot be redirected. He is also limited by the amount of time he's given to react to the incoming force. With more concentration, he is also capable of modifying the magnitude of the force, redirected or not. Weapon: Azathoth's Voice A Dust-infused battle violin built by Erich during a fit of manic inspiration. The Dust is activated by playing the violin, resulting in a variety of sound-based spells. Dust of the four primary colors is stored in the belly of the violin. Erich mixes the dust infused in the strings with the bow in order to create different elemental effects. In physical combat, the bow of the violin can be wielded as a sword and the violin as an axe. Personality: Calling Erich a "strong silent type" would be an understatement. Next to nobody who knows him claims to have heard him speak, and those that do are never taken seriously. Even those who believe actions speak louder than words find that Erich is a quiet man. Erich's subtle actions leave many unsure of what makes the man tick. Erich prefers to communicate through slight gestures and, on rare occasions, through music played on Azathoth's Voice. Bio: Erich grew up in a small village on the outskirts of Vale, near the border with Vacuo. Despite his humble hometown, his family was by no means poor, but they were likewise nowhere near the realms of the rich. He was a quiet boy, notably crying far less than expected of a baby. It is unknown whether Erich spoke as a child; however, it is known that his parents had him learn the violin as a way of expressing himself out of worry that he was too quiet. Erich's venture into warfare began when his village became caught in the midst of the fight between the Humans and Faunus of Vale and Vacuo. He and his family escaped unscathed, but their home was left in shambles and many of his friends were left lying in the wreckage. His family moved to a city where the walls would provide a sense of security, then Erich left for battle. He first went to the Faunus, thinking their noble fight for rights to be a sign that they would be more accepting of his silence. Instead, he was met by suspicion and hostility, which ultimately chased him into the arms of a band of Human mercenaries based in Vacuo. The mercenaries took him in, teaching him to use his Semblance and fight with basic weaponry. By the time the Grimm made themselves known, Erich had designed and built Azathoth's voice and become a familiar face in the ranks of the Human militia. When the joint effort against the Grimm was announced, the Vacuo Human Mercenary Corps had one name at the top of their list to nominate for the effort. Thus, Erich made his way to Fort Beacon to receive his new assignment and marching orders.
