[@Gunther] can you give us a really basic run down of commo protocol, particularly callsigns? I would have assumed that the leader of of 1st platoon would be Dagger One Six.
I've assigned the proword Dagger to our Company. So everyone in the company has that proword for a call sign. The Company Commander is 06 The Executive Officer is 05 The Sergeant Major/First Sergeant is 07 Any other Company level assets would be 0X with the X meaning whatever section they were in. First Platoon Leader is 10 Second Platoon Leader is 20 Third Platoon Leader is 30 First Squad Leader is X1 (X being either 1, 2 or 3 depending on the platoon) Second Squad Leader is X2 Third Squad Leader is X3 Weapons Squad Leader is X4 Platoon Sergeant is X5 The RTO will have a letter following the callsign of the leader he is following. It could be anything. Like the First platoon leader's RTO could be Dagger 10B or Dagger one zero Bravo. When the platoon leader himself gets on the radio he may say, "This is Dagger one zero actual," to denote that it is really the PL and not the RTO. The numbers are enunciated individually over the radio. The PL is one zero, not ten. The first squad leader is one one, not eleven.
