Basically, just makes him even more durable. A charging Krogan is a huge issue to any biotic barrier, but when that biotic barrier can transfer and throw off 90% of that kinetic energy, chances of survival go waaaaay up.

You gotta remember, medi gel would do almost nothing for him. That suit is his lifeline, and he must protect with everything he's got.
