[indent]"It was just an experiment" was the only thing Valeria would say when asked why she did it. You see, Valeria had always been interested in the field of psychology. Her mother, an art therapist, would often sit down with Valeria and teach her certain things. Out of everything her mom introduced her to, Val was obsessed with the notion of fear; the idea that people would actual have fears so irrational it festered into their daily lives. 

So, when Val learned that her closest friend at the time was claustrophobic, she just had to do something--to understand it. And possibly even cure it. She called her friend over a few times, threw in some sweet words here and there and finally was able to convince her to go along with a "treatment" plan. Valeria locked her friend up in a chest just big enough to fit her friend. Recorded her observations even through all the shrill, bloodcurdling cries for help. Her friend only lasted 5 minutes before extreme hyperventilation caused her to asphyxiate. Valeria recorder her findings.

From there, it was a downwards spiral. Next was the little boy from the town over who was afraid of water. Then the girl who was afraid of being buried alive. Then that one boy who just could not handle heights. Needless to say, no one was cured of their fear. Val only made it to 4 victims before the badly discarded remains of her claustrophobic friend were found. Val did not deny her crime seeing as how she did not see why it was so wrong to strive for progress. After all, she was working towards a cure, wasn't she? [/indent]

[indent]Valeria was always a quiet child who preferred her own company. She wasn't against social interactions, but they tended to tire her out. She did, however, enjoy seeing how certain people would react. Thus, she became an avid liar just for the fun of it. Val respected her parents immensely, however, so they were always exempt from her mischievousness. 

Val is also strong minded and once she is set on a decision does not budge one bit even if she's wrong. She's prideful to the point that she wouldn't mind going down for it; as long as she doesn't back down. She's a good listener and has this effect on people where she immediately earns their trust. She's bad with criticism, be it constructive or not, and tends to be extremely disorganized.[/indent]
