Samuru Amakusa There was a young man in the cafe, somewhat older than Rui, who was busy reading a book on the Heian period, a cup before him steaming silently on a table. His black hair was clean and glossy, and he barely noticed the the door opening, letting in the group of students. His black eyes kept focusing on the book he held, trying to sit straight, trying to look at ease, trying to appear...normal. Because, despite his average intelligence, Samuru Amakusa was anything but. A 'Krhistian', one named after the infamous rebel who had opposed the Tokugawa Shogunate. A bisexual, one who was attracted to both men and women, something looked down upon in Japan not just because of Western Influence, but also because it broke conformity, the conformity that Japanese society depended on. But he would hold his head up high, hide his sexuality except to those he can trust. If those people even existed. Samuru would wait, and watch, and hope that even in the gilded cage that is Japan, there would be an opportunity, an opportunity to be himself. A smile on his face. Maybe that day would come soon.
