Joseph Leidner was in his cabin on the cruiser as the hijacking began. Hearing the commotion he looked out a window, only to see the silhouettes of some of the divers as they climbed up onto the deck. This is not standard procedure for pilots, and they don't look like crew or other passengers. Something is up, and if it was an emergency, the onboard accouncement system would be used. Coming to the conclusion that locking himself in for the time being shouldn't put him in unnecessary danger, Joseph locked the door to his cabin from the inside. Whatever this is, if it is dangerous, it wouldn't hurt getting off this ship, especially since we should soon be close enough to land for me to make it over. And so he began packing his luggage, at least what he had not packed in advance already.
