[@Vec] Hats were of monumental importance to pre-modern humans. One could go so far as to say that the modern trend of not wearing hats is an oddity in the long march of human history. I just wanted to emphasise, in that post, the importance of hats, the fact that they're widespread, the fact that they make you instantly recognisable, and the fact that they are somewhat a sign of status.

Edit: at the very least, the reader should come away with the understanding that dress etc. is quite important in Eskanadran society.
