Though that'll depend on a few factors, such as
- Ellis is not cut off from the group by Cerberus.
- Vella recognizing the problem in the middle of a firefight.
- Vella not viewing the exotic tech on Ellis' suit as too alien for her to try.
- That there'll be time for her to run a little troubleshoot, as while Vella is familiar with power armor, she hasn't worked with a suit like Ellis' before.

and of course

- That her current grenade trick doesn't fail and the room falls on their heads ^^
