Also a question. How does attack speed factor in to stuff? So far, stats just seem to be a rather nebulous thing, cause there's no point system or anything here, but the ability to hit multiple times per single action is a keystone to my character's ability to fuck shit up, so yeah...attack speed, how's that work?
To be frank it's pretty vague since the feats and such are more like justification for certain things like why one character who is of equal level of another is slightly faster/stronger/durable. As for attack speed and it's usefulness in the grander scheme of things, for me is a running tally of how much I can let certain characters get away with combo attacks and such. I can see a character who has a bit of a speed boost get an extra hit or two in every few rounds as oppose to the other character who specializes in single-hit nukes, and depending on the build and abilities I can accept if they do more attacks than usual. The original idea of the DGO combat system is mainly based off D&D, since the usual rounds thing is basically a standard and a move action. They only last a minute per round for the sake of simplicity instead of the actual six-second rounds, because not everyone is fighting at the same time. So if we have two people fighting here but another taking a ten minute road trip to get to them, presumably the ones fighting would be done before they arrive. However it's harder to translate that in a play-by-post when a fight scene could take two people ten or so back-to-back posts, and a guy driving without anything bothering him about one or two. So minutes-per-rounds makes it slightly easier to explain how people who are minutes away arrive to the scene of a battle. Anyways back to the speedy thing. As I said, for me mentioning that your character is the type who tries to do a lot of attacks at once instead of one big one just means I'll allow you a bit more leeway to get an extra hit or two in. Dual-wielders might try for an extra stab, a guy with two pairs of arms might try to punch a guy with all four of his fists, someone who uses an automatic weapon will be firing more than one bullet, etc. This is where the game mechanics break away and the narrative takes over.
Six rounds under the assumption that she hits all those shots and doesn't get the Slow debuff cleansed, yeah. It procs from simply hitting. One of those cases where blocking and deflecting is a bad idea, which doesn't seem to matter too much in your speedster meta (though dat all-encompassing stackable slow will~). AOE ranged attacks from explosive weapons will not have AOE. THe missile would fly through the air, hit someone, and that'll be it. A flamethrower will spew out a stream of fuel, and that'll be it.
Thank you for the explanation, though I'm a bit on the fence seeing how this ability works. It's not as if you have an aim bot or anything, but only needing to hit a touch AC does make it hard for most avatars to deal with since not everyone is built for the speed meta. I say this because honestly, Moe doesn't really seem the type who wouldn't go out of her way to engage in actual PvP with other players, so I need to anticipate how this may later affect others who get into fights with her. Or I could just not care about PvP balance and let KoL and Windel decide. That's my thoughts on the matter.
