I was thinking a denizen that is not outwardly hostile or malevolent but instead exudes supernatural bad luck. Longer they stay near the creature, the worse things get until things are literally popping into existence to kill them. the creature tries to avoid people if it senses things are getting worse than it wants. (The bad luck has a kind of reset where an amount of time away from the person would reset the extent of bad luck) That being said, I also have an idea for a hunter type of creature that will try to kill the normals to get more trophies. Which sounds more enticing to you?
