Having grown-up an only child with little but her mother and grand-mother for close company, she is often giddy with excitement whenever she gets to interact with others close to her own age. Along side this mischievous part of her, however, is a strong sense of self-confidence in everything she does, never allowing for even a momentary fragment of self-doubt to ever get in the way of her and her goals. Jeanette is also a tad predatory when it comes to flirting and courting those who catch her interest. To her, the game of courting is much more entertaining then the end result, and she has taken a lot of time and practice to perfect her skills in the arts of seduction. Despite this, however, she has yet to go all the way with anyone, as she hasn't met anyone who she feels she'd want to have that first experience with. Biography: Jeanette comes from a very old family, one drenched in the old culture of Eriu. Many powerful mages and familiars have come from the family and have served as pillars of many Erish communities, mostly as spiritual leaders, guiding people in the old ways, though given a slight modern re-touch in order to fit modern sensibilities a bit more while keeping the central meaning of the ceremonies intact. Jeanette herself is only one of 5 sisters, most being older than herself, all being taught and cared for by the Blackwood family matriarch, Agatha Blackwood, who is also the girl's grandmother. Bringing them up all in the ways of old as tradition dictated, the woman was strict, but caring, and full of a vim and vigor that seemed somewhat strange in a woman as on in her years as she was. Among all of the sisters, Jeanette was the one who was closest to the matriarch, even more so then Agatha's own daughter who had found the woman's teachings of nature and the cycle of life to be dull and restrictive. And while Jeanette understood and also felt those constraints, she also felt a sense of connection with the world around her as she went through her training, which consisted of not only memorization of ancient rites, rituals, and other such mystical shenanigans supposedly passed down from the age of Magi, but also in matters of academia so that they would be able to keep up in the modern age. In both of these areas, Jeanette found herself easily able to keep pace and even move past her other siblings, especially when it came to the task of mixing potions and brews, for which she showed an exceeding promise for getting mixtures just right to get astounding effects for one as young as she. When the girls reached middle school age, however, they were challenged with a sudden shift in perspective as Agatha suddenly shoved them into a regular, if somewhat upper class, middle school. Pushed so suddenly out of their comfort zones, all of the girls felt like they had a rather difficult time getting to know or interact with others of their age group, quickly being labeled as 'weird' and 'strange' by many other students. After a few months of this, Jeanette was the first to break out of this bubble of social isolation, despite being the most afraid, due to a simple thing. She got a crush. She'd felt this attraction since first coming to school and, not knowing how to deal with these feelings, had gone to the Matriarch for advice. And Advice she received in spades as the old woman quickly began to educate her grand-daughter in what she was feeling, and gave her many tips and tricks for catching the boy's eye. After months of practices and prep, she had decided to but her grand-mother's advice into action, taking steps to get the boy's attention in a way that he had likely never been prepared for. While it wasn't anything overt or inappropriate for a girl of her age, it also wasn't something anyone her age could've been prepared for. Soon, she couldn't get her crush to stop looking at her, and for the first time since coming to school, she felt a sense of empowerment and confidence. While her crush for the boy eventually faded, they still became friends afterwards, though it was clear that she had a much more dominant and demanding role in the relationship. From then on, she continued to go to her grandmother for advice and lessons on the art of seduction and subtle manipulations, while also studying a great deal on her own. In the short time between then and now, she has gained a bit of a reputation amongst those who know of her, some neutral, most much less so. Her decision to come to St. Fortuna was simply because not only was it a school where a lot of the best Mages and Familiars in the world had come from, but she also wanted to travel, wanting to see more of the world and finding a school like this as a perfect opportunity. While scolded for this some what light-hearted attitude for going to St. Fortuna, she has shown her seriousness by getting through her first year with flying colors.
