I would like to say no in the male Nobushi. I would also like to explain why. It basically boils down to two factors:
1. Nobushi is female only in the game. 
2. The slim naginata was historically mostly used by women for defence, but a heavier type were used for men.
If you really want to have a male Nobushi, do tell me why and maybe I'll lift the ban for you :)

Generals:
Any player can be a general and it does not affect their character or anything that happens in game. A general is simply a person who has a broad sense of their faction and its heroes, and is as such able to tell if what a fellow player does is according to or against their faction/hero. 
I did not express myself clearly about this in the OP, for which I am sorry. Generals are simply supposed to be a kind of co-GM that can keep track of what their faction is or should be doing to take a load off the GM (me).
