Ramm could give a damn about nature however. He just wants to be the apex predator. (Taught By a Master of Natural Magic) Shapeshift (Tiger) - Ramm takes on the form of an eight-hundred and fifty pound tiger, matching his colors. A huge beast and definitely larger than the wild animal the form is inspired by. Defensive magic still affecting him is carried over in forms. This form has strength augmented by shapeshifting magic and while rather reasonable for its considerable girth at current will gain in strength, resilience and ferocity as the story rolls on. Mana consumption from the shapeshift is a one-shot deal, Ramm uses the energy and doesn't need to use energy again until he wants to shift back. If he is drained of mana he will be trapped in this form until he recovers enough to change. A tiger doesn't talk. Stoneskin - A magic spell that creates a layer of lithified flesh to protect against most physical attacks until the layer is removed or fades over time. This spell generally lasts a few hours and feels natural to wear. It can be cast on others but being a rather novice in direct spell-casting Ramm usually just throws all his magic on himself and ignores everyone else. Stoneskin is able to mitigate lesser damage until chipped away or some of the damage from greater attacks before being pierced are exposed like explosions and weapons meant to pierce through solid objects like high caliber rifles and thrusts from a strong foe. Sunburst - A brilliant flash of fiery energy mimicking the lashing light of the sun. This is generally intended as a druid's best friend. Ramm sucks with it though so all he can manage is a bright pop of light and maybe some semi-useful sparks. It is still one of Ramm's favorite party tricks to use. This takes little to no mana. Sunburst cast properly is an elemental spell cast after the fashion of a druid and used to burn an area with fire like a flare from the sun. (Self-Taughtish) Shapeshift (Wrath) - Ramm's favorite and most used ability. After a lot of trial and error, Ramm learned how to hold the tiger-shift part of the way through, granting him an increase in size, strength and speed while still allowing him to stand on two feet and speak. With Wrath in effect Ramm drains a little of his mana constantly because he hasn't managed to work out all the kinks yet. Hibernate - A magical slumber that a master druid would use to calm animals and lull them to sleep. Ramm being a failure at conventional magic uses it on himself to recover from harm and fatigue more quickly. He has recklessly augmented his use of the spell with a restorative one that he could never manage to get right on its own. While hibernated he's clearly vulnerable from the deep sleep he's under, it does however help him recover from many unconventional threats like poisons of the less deadly variety, mental attacks and illnesses. The restorative magic allows him to recover from fatigue and injury in a quarter of the time a normal person would.

EQUIPMENT

Harness and Loincloth - Pretty self-explanatory here. Being a shapeshifter that changes size consistently it's nice to have clothing that doesn't tear apart. A harness holds the loincloth, pouches and various other tools in place. Knife - An archaic styled combat knife. It looks to be what historians would identify as an ancient relic from before the manaburst. It could also just be a cheap gnomish knock-off. Either way it still cuts fine. Spear - It's just a wooden pole with a sharp piece of metal on the end. Were you expecting some magical artifact with a special name? Pfft! Spears have been killing legendary heroes for ages, a knight that doesn't fear a peasant with a spear is a fool. While Ramm's got quite a lack for talent in advanced magic he has a special love for the art that is combat.

BACKSTORY

Something Ramm learned early in life was that there was nothing quite so thrilling as the rush of battle. The scent of fear, blood and fire was exhilarating. Make no mistake, he wasn't obsessed with death, no. It was the conflict, the fight, the brawl! While many a man became drunk on mead this one was intoxicated with victory and the thrill of worthy combat. Ramm recalls little of his youth, too many blows to the head perhaps? It was a dull and unremarkable time of safety. He learned from masters that drilled rituals and proper honoring ceremonies into him of the gods that defended his lands. It was this time he learned magic that he never really forgot, even if he never properly learned it to begin with. His masters stopped teaching him magic because of his disposition and unruliness. The little rebel. Punishment was more frequent than lesson. So he took the initiative and changed vocations. He went to be guardian in training, hoping to serve in a more physically demanding and suitable position. He wasn't wrong with that. He was challenged a toughened but something was missing. Life was still cozy. Ramm was searching for something, a feeling, a fulfillment he was missing. So he struck out on his own for a while. It didn't take long for conflict to find him and he reveled in it. Fighting made him feel alive. He made himself an unpredictable opponent. Though he naturally went for the shortest ways to end his fights he didn't often look to kill unless there was a reason to. He figured if they got stronger they'd come back and he'd be able to fight them again. A reciprocation that made everyone better and more whole. It felt like his life was turning for the better. Life however is rarely so kind as to be consistent. Sustenance. Reality and mortal needs were something that Ramm faced. He had no money or anything to trade in a world that needed it, he wasn't particularly smart and for his size he wasn't deft at anything. The only thing he really knew how to do was cast some crappy magic and fight. So of course he started to fall into less than honest company for a while that employed his skill at fighting for decent coin. It seemed okay then. Fighting meant coin and he liked fighting. Unfortunately the last job he took with unsavory company saw him as a loose end, a disposable set of muscle. Ramm was indeed six and a half feet of striped fur and muscle but he sure as hell wasn't going to be thrown away like a broken tool. Completely outnumbered and under-armed he did as he always did, he fought. And he won. Now stripped of his source of income he sought the next fight and the next payday - at an honest guild.
