Vella's experience with Batarians pre-Reapers mostly involved raiding illegal pirate enclaves, mining operations and rogue stations.

Then again, not like the Batarians had any shortage of those!

It is a possibility Vella may have been involved in blowing up one of Ja'far's old stashes or something ^^
