Very wrong. One Piece: death is permanent. Fullmetal Alchemist: death is permanent. Naruto: death is mostly permanent, and exceptions to this rule take away the revived person's autonomy. Toriko: death is permanent. Rurouni Kenshin, Basilisk, Berserk, Gundam, Kenichi... the list goes on. Death is perfectly meaningful in [i]most[/i] shounen anime, and stuff like Dragon Ball Z is the exception.
