Iris also does not give herself nearly enough credit. As accomplished as she is, she defers to others, never taking credit for her work. Receiving awards and medals always felt awkward to her in the extreme. Rather than causing her to become prideful and boastful as it may for others, her insecurity humbles her to an extreme. If given a chance, though, she can work through it and shine. Her decisions are generally impulsive, but as Iris likes to say, it tends to work out for the best. She doesn't want herself, or anyone else, to be limited in life.

[b][color=99ccff]What Brings You To The City:[/color][/b] She had done an exchange program at Justice University, and once she was looking for a job, a professor from the school contacted her, letting her know about an opening at the asylum. A plane trip, two interviews, and a stellar letter of recommendation later, she landed the position. She knows that her third cousins, Cecily and Ethan, both live in California and having family, no matter how extended, in the area didn't seem like too bad an idea. 

[b][color=99ccff]Life Before You Moved In:[/color][/b] Iris is the youngest child of the current Earl of Granville, Luc Kingston. Her elder brother, Darcy, is the heir presumptive. If it wasn't for Iris' great-great grandfather outliving his eldest son, the title would have passed down differently. As it was, it went to Iris' great-grandfather, who married and settled down in France. It was only when Iris' father Luc married Jane, a British woman, that the family returned to England, settling down in the old Kingston family estate. 

Growing up at the estate, Iris had a sort of odd attitude. She assumed that everyone's parents were earls, that the peerage was quite normal. At home, her father would speak in French, and her mother would speak in English. For the first ten years of her life, Iris' papers would be an odd jumbling of the two languages, as she insisted that it made more sense to not limit herself to one tongue. Her elder brother, Darcy, was quite overprotective of her, calling her weekly once her parents sent her to boarding school. 

At school, Iris met her best friend, a rather morbid girl named Mary. Her third cousin, Marley-Mae, was adopted by her parents when she was sixteen, but she hardly saw the girl. Marley-Mae was troubled, constantly running off and getting into trouble. As much as Iris tried to connect with her, she just couldn't. With Mary and Marley-Mae's conflicting personalities, Iris became deeply interested in psychology. She also learned how to fence at the school, and played on the school's ice hockey team. 

Of course, Iris also has a lot of family pride, but not in a boastful way. Generations of Kingstons have been buried in the small cemetery on the estate, allowing her to see the immense and rich family history. The Kingstons hold family reunions quite often, and Iris was able to meet her third cousin, Cecily, through them. 

Once completing her education and her A-levels, Iris was accepted to University of Cambridge to study psychology, on the sychological and Behavioural Sciences Tripos Track. Her elder brother, Darcy, was a senior at the school as she entered as a freshman, and while Marley-Mae moved out of the manor without a trace, she at least had her brother for a familiar face. Mary attended the same university as well, studying literature. 

During her third year of school, Iris was accepted to a study abroad program in the states at Justice University. Rather than take coursework, she gained experience in her field by working at a mental hospital, in order to get practical knowledge. As well as being paid for her work, she earned credits towards her degree, and nurtured some professional connections. Once she completed her program, Iris pursued her doctorate degree as well, again at Cambridge. At age 25, Iris is one of the youngest people to ever be awarded the degree.

[b][color=99ccff]Life Since You Moved In:[/color][/b] Iris has been in Justice since the beginning of the year. It's a bit different for her, and she enjoys getting away from the manor, getting to live something nearer to real life. She calls her brother about every night, the two of them skyping and catching up. He's currently working for a digital communications company, already high up in the chain of command. The mental ward has been a real treat for her to work at, especially as she's getting to do actual psychiatry.
