And he just couldn't blame her if she prioritized them. Daniel arrived a little later, because he didn't want to stand through a boring speech, and just wanted to get to the main event. He had enough of long-drawn out speeches. Though, he caught the end of it, and wondered how the people around here would react if they found out that he was with the Family. He took a look around as he saw all the people that supported DOVE and RAVEN (or were just here to get out of the house)... the real citizens of Baybridge. The same people that he was taught were inferior to the likes of the Family. ... These people would kill him if they found out. However, fortunately, not a soul knew Daniel as anymore than just a kid in the crowd. Though, he dressed rather good with a leather biker jacket on with jeans, and boots. His outfit was black-coded, but he prayed nobody would see him as "emo." He would have to kill himself if that was the case. He scrolled through the crowd towards the building that RAVEN reserved. He reached into his pocket, and pulled out a note. The one that Maximilian handed him that allowed him access into there. Before opening the door, he stopped. He reached into his other pocket, and pulled out a carton of cigarettes and ducked into an alleyway. Cigarettes were the one vice of his he couldn't ignore. He leaned up against the wall, lit the cigarette, and threw his head back as he felt the nicotine fill his lungs. "... Echo," He heard a familiar voice as he felt his cigarette get snatched from between his lips so fast he could barely open his eyes in time. He saw a golden light over top of him, before he realized it was Maximilian's Echo. A glowing copy of himself. Daniel himself paused for a moment as he stared at the copy... before he turned his head down the alleyway at Maximilian. "Daniel," Maximilian started off, he crossed his arms, and leaned up against the wall. "Don't you know smoking is bad for you? You don't want to ruin your lungs this early." Echo promptly crushed the cigarette, and threw the remains over his shoulder into the dumpster. "How did you find me?" Daniel asked. "... I saw you walk up to the door, then turn off," Maximilian couldn't help but chuckle a tiny little bit. He clapped his hands together as he walked up to Daniel. "But, Daniel, don't you have friends from the Academy to hang out with? You don't have to spend your time with RAVEN." Those words hurt Daniel a bit. "I had plans, but she changed at the last second," Daniel scratched the back of his neck, and he awkwardly shifted his feet. "Oh." Maximilian said, and what followed was a very awkward silence. "How about this, Daniel?" Maximilian said, and caught Daniel's attention. "How about you go get us some funnel cake to eat and we'll chat inside?" Maximilian pointed at the building. "There's a lot of free funnel cake around..." It was something to do, Daniel merely shrugged as he said. "Yeah, that sounds good." The two silently bid farewell, as Daniel turned and walked off, and Maximilian went back inside.
