Hondo Shigeki

Evidently, the wide berth he gave the merry band was not nearly wide enough, because he was still in earshot when the shouting started. He winced slightly at the small girl's loud declaration, and the declarations that followed. The shouting....Oh, the shouting. People in this school LOVED to shout, day in and day out. Already, he pined for the days of his relatively shouting-free vacation....it was WAY too early in the morning for this shit. He briefly glanced over at the group, brow furrowed in annoyance. It twitched briefly at the sight of Jonathan's smile and wave. He cursed his own impulsive glance; his plan to avoid a massive headache was utterly ruined. While his gaze was turned in that direction, his eyes briefly fell over the group as a whole. While Jonathan's infuriatingly familiar face stood out, the other, new faces blurred and meshed together into a haze in his mind....It didn't matter what they looked like, they were all just noise to him. Just a bunch of new shouters and nuisances to get in the way of his peace and quiet. A face did emerge from the mass in his thoughts, however, as he noted the pair of golden eyes briefly on him. A sharp-looking new arrival was giving him a dirty look. His brow twitched again. "Yeah, good morning to you too, jackass..." He muttered petulantly under his breath. Then, more noise. So much more noise. Too much god damn noise. He turned his attention to a nearby tree, watching a small ninja child topple over from a tree and crash into the dirt below. He greeted everyone with strained but loud "Nin-Nin." ..... "Nin-nin." The kid actually said "Nin-Nin." It was WAAAY too early in the morning for this. He could only give the shinobi child a look of quiet, poorly-masked irritation. He prayed to himself, silently, that this was simply a lost boy and not a new student. A shining light of hope pierced the murk of Hondo's heart, however briefly, when he turned back just in time to watch Jonathan get coldcocked in the face by a little girl. A tiny rush of positive energy flowed through his veins for a fraction of a second. He felt, dare he say it, amused. The girl who threw the mighty punch tore herself from the murky haze of blended students within his mind. She, too, had earned a recognizable face in his eyes.
