Name - Gutter (Formally Jacob Brown) Alias - Gutter Age - 20 human years (Has only been Gutter 2 months) Powers - Speedster: Gutter is something of a low level speedster; He can consistently travel at over sixty kilometers per hour on his own for long periods of time and for short bursts can push himself to up to one hundred kilometers per hour. Rat Ninja: In order to survive in a world which scorns his existence, one has to know how to hide and move around unseen by those who would panic at the sight of him. Weaknesses - Haunted by the Ghosts of the Past: Gutter's transformation into his current state of being was not gentle on his body and it more or less shattered his mind. He does not remember his life as Jacob Brown and actively tries to blocks out memories of his human past because they are nothing more then the ghost of a dead man that cause Gutter great pain. Book by the cover: Gutter cannot live a day to day life in proper society. While humanity as had to accept the fact that there are aliens and mutants among them, Gutter appears completely inhuman to the point where the average human being is likely to call the cops or the local superhero will swing by to try and deal with what appears to be just another animal themed villain/monster. Personality - Paranoid, Flighty, Idealist. Experience - Two months Appearance: (Note, instead of a pair of blades he wields a pair of tonfa's instead.) Gutter is neither cute nor cuddly due to the mutations that he has undergone. In fact, his appearance is damn right scary and it isn't strange for him to have to run away because someone called the cops or a super on the 'monster' they saw stalking down the street. BRIEF Bio - Jacob Brown was just another student at collage, attempting to earn a degree in graphic design. His parents and older sisters were loving, if slightly overprotective of him and moving out of home to go to collage was a wonderful breath of fresh air for everyone. After the 'Awakening Incident' through, Jacob Brown was considered MIA, lost among the chaos that followed when dozens, if not hundreds of people had their mutant gene forcefully triggered at once. He will likely be considered legally dead in time. Gutter is a strange creature; Despite his somewhat cowardly instincts to avoid danger and his general distrust of humanity out of paranoid knowledge of what they would do to him if given the chance, he is still driven to try and help innocent people by a deep seated desire to be a good rat in his own mind. He tends to eat garbage and sleep in horrible places, resulting in him smelling somewhat foul, through where possible he will attempt to clean himself up. He also has the surprising benefit of being able to be a hero at all times without having to worry about a life outside of being a hero getting in the way; He doesn't exactly have a social life and no matter how open minded an employer is, Gutter is a giant humanoid rat that tends to smell like garbage. Key Differences - Gutter doesn't have a comic nor is he likely to ever get one. Sample Story Arcs - Gutter meets other heroes... first impressions likely won't go well. Gutter tries to be heroic despite the fact that everyone seems to want nothing to do with him. Gutter makes friends and enemies. Supporting Characters - Anti mutant groups, pro human extremists, street level criminals, organized crime, other mutants, other supers, humanity in general. Notes - Jacob's transformation was triggered by an unknown minor mutant super villain who felt the need to try and speed the natural evolution of mankind up a bit by developing a substance that forcefully triggers the dormant mutant genes in those who consume it and slipped it into the local water supply; an act that caused quite a large amount of bedlam as dozens, if not hundreds of people of all genders, races and ages discovered they were mutants in a rather sudden, violent way. Jacob's transformation was brutally painful, largely destroying his old mind and leaving him lost and confused. During the chaos, he encountered one of the other mutants taking advantage of his new powers to try and force himself on a human woman and leaped into action, taking the man down hard even as the woman screamed as she ran away. Gutter tries to be a hero and protect innocent people largely for himself; He doesn't really care about the man things that scream and ran away from him or attack him, but something about protecting them from harm makes him feel good about himself and allows him to look his reflection in the eye.
