Kijani woke up on the floor. She groaned, rubbing a hand across her face. The memories of last night's rest were vague, but most of them were horrible. She was having nightmares again. Silently, she lifted her shirt, gazing down at the long scar that marred her slim torso. The old wound was red and puffy, as if it were a fresh cut, and an infected one at that. "Mmph... calm down, you." She spoke to her body, before picking herself off the floor. After a quick shower, she packed her things and headed out for the morning. --- Devika was determined to make the most of her day, to write off yesterday as a wash. She dressed in yellows and oranges, brilliant summer colors, to fight against the dreary winter. She even wore a flowered headband, just to keep her spirits up. She headed off to breakfast, trying to keep a smile on her face. Even if she didn't really feel it.
