It maybe have been at that moment that one of the many students who had seen that unusual dream noticed that the moon was out. It was hardly unusual, on a clear day at this time the moon's visibility was not an unlikely thing. Still, somehow it may have seemed slightly more attention grabbing... Or perhaps it was the brief glimpse of a black-haired girl sprinting by in a trenchcoat, in the distance. That may have been quite noticeable, too. Either way, something caught their attention, even only for the briefest of moments... And the next time they opened their eyes after blinking, their surroundings had completely changed. No longer were any of them outside, or in a small restaurant, or anywhere else that looked remotely familiar. Instead, they were in what appeared to be an elevator, a dark blue elevator that could be felt going slowly downward. Somehow, it was large enough to accommodate everyone, in spite of not seeming like it should. There didn't appear to be any door to leave it, but the sensation of going downward marked it as absolutely an elevator. Or perhaps it was upward? Somehow, it was hard to tell what direction they were moving in, even though the difference between up and down should have been obvious. This could be counted as one of the few times that Detective Sasegawa Hikaru was stunned into complete silence. For what seemed like it could have been anywhere from ten seconds to ten minutes, the elevator inexorably carried on, its dark blue velvet walls making it seem like they were surrounded in nothingness. Then, suddenly, the front of the elevator slid open. Suddenly there was no elevator at all, and they were standing in a large, circular room. It was also blue, with a blue velvet couch in the center. Surrounding the room, towards the ceiling, were a set of various screens displaying images of... a city? A dark city... This was the same location as in their dreams. On the couch, just as in their dreams, was a a young brunette girl dressed in a stylized miko outfit. When she noticed them, she stood, the bells in her hair jingling. "Finally," she began, "Let me introduce myself. I am Tsukuyomi, and I'd like to welcome you to the Hollow Space."
