Okay so Marquis attempted to knock out Ghelgath and pick him up later, dived off the island like the classy fucker he is, then domed Bastion to get her back to Hyperion.  Right now he's looking to either take out Henry by rapidly swapping shot locations or escape.  And that gas is being accounted for, you'll notice things happening the longer he's exposed to it.  Though considering he got melted by the Leviathan that one time, this is like vinegar to him.
