You're forgetting the fact that KoL has a bad habit of making character arcs and then subsequently never doing anything with them. But the human subplot never changed. I've said many times IC that Bastion's looked down on in the Machina ranks for being human. Hence why her only friends are a "useless Flame character" and Diana. 

And if Henry manages to capture Bastion, I'll give you ArtoriaxBastion.
