I also preferred Jessica Jones to the other series, though I think the absolute best casting in the Netflix series is Jon Bernthal as Punisher. 

My impression was that Nuke was left open to come back to in season 2, or even the Defenders, while Trish is still on the path to eventually becoming Hellcat in a later series. Just because they didn't do it straight away, doesn't mean they're not gonna do it.
