[@Polybius] I think what really got me into the "Dying World" fantasy was actually Lovecraft's [i]Memory[/i].

It was mainly the concept that all of our great works are useless. To take a line from Shelley, "Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair" is kinda the idea I got from it.
