Then the group would probably not know much about the mysterious Mr. Pierce. Obviously those who were already at the school for a while should know that Mr. Pierce is a librarian. However if we are starting off already on the monster-killing-as-a-team page then, I think they should know some about what he does, even if it isn't much right now. If that is not the case then I believe it should be left up to each character to have their own relation to the strange librarian.
