The first bell of the new school year rung out throughout Asaki Academy, marking the start of the day. Outside the gate of this academy stood the new transfer student, Ganta Madora. Everyone had been talking about his transfer and the array of possible reasons for such a transfer. It wasn't a secret that Ganta was a troublemaker and it didn't help the situation that he was also the child of two famous, and quite wealthy, doctors. As the red-haired boy stood there, he could hear the murmurs of fellow class mates gossiping about him. Their stares almost feeling as if they were burning a hole into his head. With a heavy sigh, he began to walk forward onto the campus ground. His posture slouched trying to not attract too much attention, "Different school, same problems." He muttered to himself as he glared at some passerbys, making them flintch and move faster. At the front door to the school stood Yoko Tasuki, former class president last year and hoped for a second time this year. She had been asked by the principal to take the new tranfer student around the campus and make sure he knew where his classes were. It excited Yoko, she got to meet a new student and a potential new friend. She scanned the crowd that swarmed the school gate, until she saw the redheaded Ganta, who as much as he tried to hide, stood out like a sore thumb. She smiled wide as she run towards the newcomer, stopping in front of him, "You must be Ganta! I'm Yoko, I'll be showing you around the school grounds today. It's nice to meet you!" Ganta looked up, sighing a little and lifting his hand in a small wave. "Yeah, same to you."
