I'm a bit more of a DMC1 fan if only because DMC3 has some tedious shit like the Doppelganger fight, those squid dudes that you couldn't attack for a while, and that mission where you switch the rooms in the tower around sprinkled in alongside the otherwise downright excellent gameplay, soundtrack, story presentation, boss fights[s], and the fact that they made that gem after DMC2 like god damn talk about bouncing back[/s].

But as far as gameplay alone goes there's so much depth to DMC4 that it's a clear favorite for me, I've played through it like a million times and I still pick up new tricks every time.
