‘May You Never Yield, May You Never Fail.’

Its a name that has always been associated with bravery, heroics, and serving for the greater good. Men and women, from those possessing the mightiest of powers, to even the most humble and skilled. All have come and gone over the many years, seeking the kind of glory that only comes with joining such an elite team.

That team? The Avengers.

~ First page of the Avengers Academy pamphlet

Created as a response to the growing panic over countless threats like Hydra, mutants and by association The Brotherhood, and many others. Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, or SHIELD for short. Created what was then called The Avengers Initiative. Led by the recently unfrozen World War II hero Captain America, the team has been a symbol of hope in all the madness in the world. Providing not just defense for serious dangers against the world, but aid to those in need as well.

Many have come and gone from the ranks of The Avengers, either voluntarily or from unfortunate circumstances. The two biggest constants of the team though have been Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, respectably Captain America and Iron Man. However even with his peek physical skills Steve finally decided to slow down. Shocking the world when he announced he was stepping down effective immediately as leader of The Avengers. What shocked everyone even more was what Steve Rogers had decided to do with his newfound free time.

Even as a man from the past, Steve always wanted to look ahead. The next new recruits that would lead The Avengers into the next century and beyond. To that end he brought up an idea to Nick Fury that would eventually lead to the creation of Avengers Academy. A private academy that would bring in great young heroes to be. Teach them everything important, and train them in handling their powers and combat scenarios.

The Academy would be a prime target for enemies though. So Nick Fury had it be commissioned to be on the top of a specially made helicarrier. Which ensured a perfectly safe environment that keeps outside distractions to a minimum. The academy however features many amenities for staff and students alike. Not only a state of the art training area that doubles as an athletic arena for basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and even ice hockey. A pair of Olympic sized swimming pools. Plus there is a student lounge filled with video games, pool and air hockey tables, and some of the most comfy couches you will ever rest your rear end on.

While some of the teachers and faculty staff consist of either paid normal teachers or medical personal. A majority of the staff either hails from SHIELD or are former Avengers in their own right. Hank Pym, formerly the original Ant-Man, runs the science labs and program at Avengers Academy as an example.

This year promises to be Avengers Academy’s most interesting year yet, as students are arriving in from around the world to either continue studies or are new. None are aware yet of the crazy year ahead.

So I got bored and made my own For Official Use Only for Billy, Tommy, Franklin, and Warren... what do you guys think?

Tommy Shepherd

Initial observation report: While Rogers has plenty of faith in Tommy, I personally have my doubts. His character has a lot of questionable qualities to it, and he lacks as many traits that SHIELD and The Avengers look for. That being said, he has plenty of developed skills in his super speed powers. Plus, I had said the same things about Clint Barton in the past and, ironically, Pietro Maximoff as well.
Training regimen/expertise: When it comes to combat we need to give Tommy a fighting style that’ll accentuate his quickness. The instructors have suggested something akin to Jeet Kune Do, which should help give him firm and powerful strikes to match his quickness. Otherwise courses to make sure he can operate much more effective in a team envoriment.
Potential Outlook: As much as his super speed would provide plenty of support, as well as shock and awe in combat. Tommy himself though is in dire need of a change in attitude before I would personally trust him with any high operations. As I’ve written before though, Rogers has a lot of faith in him proving me wrong.
Best case scenario: Tommy indeed can show all of us his potential and would certainly take a lot of Pietro’s workload. He would be a versatile talent who could provide everything from recon, surviliance, and other important tasks.
Worst case scenario: Tommy’s ill temper problems would make having him in any operation difficult, and Pietro’s own history shows he can be a very serious problem for anyone to handle.

Billy Kaplan

Initial observation report: Billy strikes me as very timid in what I’ve seen of him. As well as lacking confidence. In both himself and his ability to control his powers. His powers through are a treasure trove of potential however. Of course, his not the first chaos magic manipulator we’ve had, and Wanda Maximoff is proof of the dangers involved.
Training regimen/expertise: First and foremost we need to be very careful how we approach his training in his magic. I’ve personally extended an invitation for Dr. Stephen Strange to come and personally assess how we go about handling such power. In the meantime, Billy’s training will be to improve his overall health and ability without powers.
Potential Outlook: Billy’s outlook is, without a shadow of a doubt, a major gamble for SHIELD and The Avengers. If he can gain control and improve physically and mentally. We’ll have a very powerful future hero on our hands. However I worry about his relationship with Mr. Teddy Altman. I’ve seen security cam footage of when the two were stopping a bank robbery. Teddy was shot and Billy became emotionally compromised. Losing control of his powers and severely hurting the criminals. I see a lot of Wanda Maximoff in him, in both a good and bad sense.
Best case scenario: If we can help Billy harness and control his power. We will have quite possibly one of, if not the single most powerful hero in history. Roger believes that, and so do I. Billy would give us limitless potential in stopping crimes.
Worst case scenario: Wanda Maximoff’s meltdown after losing her children is something that still haunts me and The Avengers. The difference between Wanda and Billy however, was Wanda had the upmost control of her powers up until that point.... Billy still has a long ways to go, and it can only be assumed a meltdown from him would be an even bigger disaster.

Franklin Richards

Initial observation report: Naturally Franklin already comes to the academy with a wealth of experience. His parents are great heroes, and great people as well. I see a lot of their best qualities in Franklin. Of course having their powers also means Franklin is well trained in them as well. The situation with Doom was a very ugly situation though. I see a lot of symptoms of post traumatic stress syndrome in him. Which leaves a major question mark of how he’ll perform when things amp up.
Training regimen/expertise: Reed and Susan have personally assured me Franklin is very well trained in his powers. From what I’ve seen I believe them. However the same can’t be said for his physical skills and hand to hand. Thus the goal will be to make sure he spends plenty of time in the gym. Training him in martial arts, and improving his strength and stamina. I expect the trainers to really push him, to see if, and how hard he’ll push back.
Potential Outlook: Its not often the academy gets someone who I would be comfortable sending out to the field immediately. Franklin almost fits that bill, but lacks in a few points. Assuming his physical, more importantly his mental health are enhanced. Franklin would make a fine Avengers, assuming he won’t continue his family’s team The Fantastic Four. The fact his over reliant on his powers is an issue, but its his emotional state that I’m most concerned about.
Best case scenario: Franklin can provide so much as a hero. His father’s elasticity giving him a lot of different skills and roles to fill. His mother’s invisibility and force field generating will make him a perfect spy and defensive hero.
Worst case scenario: PTSD is a very serious issue, and it’s something that can effect him on the field to very dangerous levels. Although Doom has not been seen since the incident. I am very concerned for Franklin’s sake if he ever returns.

Warren Worthington III

Initial observation report: When Charles Xavier came to Rogers and I about students he would like to transfer to Avengers Academy. It was Warren who I thought would make the most interesting project of sorts for our instructors. He is well versed in using his wings and flying. But when it comes to fighting either hand to hand or with weapons he showed he had a lot to learn. Emotionally Warren seemed stilted to me. A lot of it stemming from his parents not loving him in my eyes. This would need to change if he’s to operate in a team.
Training regimen/expertise: Making sure Warren stays sharp in his flying will be a priority, so flight class will be a natural for him hopefully. Otherwise it’ll be a physical training regime for him. I also suggested he could work with some kind of assault rifle that fires non-lethal rounds. The instructors though are going to see what other kind of weapons Warren would be best with.
Potential Outlook: Xavier had told me he saw Warren as a great source of potential for the X-Men. I can see how, having eyes in the sky is a valuable thing no matter what team you’re in. Especially when said eyes can provide back up in a moment’s notice. His trusting issues are a problem right now however. With the right positive reinforcement he’ll be a great team member. For either The Avengers or The X-Men.
Best case scenario: Warren’s flight would give the team serious surveillance, crowd control, and aerial attack possibilities. His trust in his teammates would make him more effective in whatever we task him with.
Worst case scenario: If Warren can’t trust either his superiors or teammates he would be a danger to the rest of the team, and most importantly himself. One bad incident could mean the different in him being a hero or hurt, possibly dead.

I don't know if we ever discussed it, but I think one detail that could be funny, and kind of cute. Would be if Valeria has been ruling Latveria in Doom's wake. Yes, even as a 15/16 year old, and damn well at it too. Like the country is catching up and improving on a daily basis.

Well, if I may use DC as an example. During a period Bruce Wayne wasn't around to run Wayne Industries. His like 8 year old son Damien took over and the stocks improved when he came back.

As for Valeria Richards, its Reed and Susan's younger daughter...

She's powerless but supposedly as smart as Reed. If I remember correctly something went wrong with her birth or Doom played a part in it. But he ended up helping Susan give birth to her. But wanted Reed and Susan to name her Valeria in exchange, his mother's name.
