"Oh, um, that's great!" Akane said, trying to focus on the prospect of getting a tasty meal rather then any of the other nervous thoughts plaguing her mind at the moment. Certainly, she was quite hungry... ah, how had she ended up like this, though? Inviting an upperclassmen to lunch had just been such a spur of the moment thing, had it really been a good idea? This wasn't normally something she ever did... had becoming a magical girl filled her with some kind of strange sense of boldness? And yet, this seemed to be some utterly misplaced confidence given how nervous she'd become just sitting down. Deep down, she began to want to slap herself in the face. Why had she thought inviting an upperclassmen she'd barely ever spoken to before for a meal was a good idea? It was like the most awkward possible date or something! ... Why did she have to have to think of that comparison?! Now it just felt even more awkward! When Katsura-senpai pointed out that she didn't need to be nervous, well, that was just icing on the cake, really. "A-ah, well, er," Akane blushed, trying to shunt the embarrassing date comparison out of her thoughts, "I guess it's just, um, this wasn't, ah, this isn't something I do a lot, really, um, it was really sudden so er... s-sorry if I'm being awkward or something..." She trailed off. You can do it, Akane-chan! I believe in you! At least Melody had turned around from pouting to cheering her on... Though the fact that she needed cheering on just talking to someone new was a little bit of a depressing prospect for Akane. [@Crimmy]
葛 馮虚 (コペンハーゲン・スター) The older girl let out a giggle, a melodious sound that she immediately stifled by holding her hand to her face before it could evolve into full-blown chuckling. It was certainly not her intention to be so rude to the other student, but the awkwardness that Akane was very much embodying was quite endearing and cute to behold. She hadn't expected the new magical girl to be worrying so much over whether or not their presence was something she disliked, but it was a trait that - while adorable - was rather befitting a defender of humanity against the Negari. The ability to always consider others was always one to be cherished. Although, her underclassman would need to be careful not to focus so much on others at the detriment of herself. "Oh, it's perfectly fine," replied Hyoukyo, lowering her hand to reveal her patient and kindly smile. "This was rather out-of-the-blue for me as well." It hadn't been an extremely shocking series of events (if one were to exclude the revelation of the newborn magical girl's identity), but the East Umitori third-year had definitely not be expecting her day to be moving in such a direction. She'd been quite intent on returning home initially, but as if a train forced to change tracks due to an accident further down the rail, she instead found herself connecting with Akane. Even if the younger girl hadn't been a magical girl, she thought, she probably still would have sought to approach the girl. Garnering further information and data on Akane's powers and abilities would be useful, but making friends with the underclassman was something she found to be quite a potential source of fun.
