[@Grimhildr] Uhhhhhhh...Wasn't trying to? <.< I agreed with your statement almost 100%. Simply corrected it didn't have to do with mainstream. I feel like I'm living on another plain of existence... I mean your a and b sort of contradict each other. You don't deny marketing but it's invalid to say they were targeting a certain demographic because one of the leads, don't count in the grand scheme of things. I didn't say it was only meant for furries either...I said it was another demographic it targeted with the marketing...the first trailers used the word anthropomorphic. Marketing usually DOES market to specific people. That was my point.
the animator involving furries ≠ the film's marketing. i don't deny that it was a big hit in the furry world, but it doesn't exactly line up that disney would suddenly go from targeting children/families to targeting furries as well. is it a step in that direction? sure. but i still stand by my point that it wasn't directed at furries, even as a second demographic. also, i wasn't saying that your argument had to do with mainstream. if you'd actually read my post correctly, i said that most of the questions here are people going "oh look at me! i don't conform to the mainstream! i think popular things are dumb! am i cool yet?" also, anthropomorphic isn't a furry word lmao. i don't see any marketing through the thousands of trailers towards furries, just towards families with children. but hey, that's just me.
