2013 "What you doing now?" Pepper asked Tony as she exited the elevator to see Tony in his lab that overlooked the glittery New York skyline. She and Tony lived in Stark Tower which was the new headquarters for their business. After the incident in New York, the city was on the road to recovery. People were still going to hospitals to receive treatment, roads were being filled and painted over, and bloodstains were slowly being washed out of the sidewalks. The city and its people were in a process of healing after a few short months of being faced with soulless aliens from another realm. Even so, Tony and Pepper were doing their best to ensure the public viewed Stark Industries in a more positive manner. They were more aware of the environment and doing a lot more philanthropic work in the area. Tony spun around and gave Pepper a smug look that already told the redhead that he was indeed, up to no good. "I am just doing some experiments." Tony gave a casual shrug, though his face gave away his intentions. The dark haired man spun back around to the Tesseract which Thor was letting him burrow for the weekend. Tony was at the moment, trying to analyze it and see how it could better his own technology. Pepper grabbed her gun in its holster and slipped it around her waist. She had on black jeans and a light blue button up tee shirt, the weather was rather mild and she wanted to go to the gun range with Tony for more practice. Tony stepped back and used a large laser to get a closer reading on the Tesseract but as soon as it connected, there was a large sound of air before he and Pepper were sucked inwards. 2029 There was a sudden sound before Tony Stark and Pepper Potts found them in the middle of a deserted part of Mexico by the border between it and the United States of America. "What the hell did you just do? Where are we?" She exclaimed as dust threatened to fill her lungs as she started to couch, trying to ward herself of the dry clouds of dust. Tony looked around, unable to provide an accurate answer for his close friend. He held up his hands, trying to buy himself a little more time while he figured it out. Clearly they weren't in New York City anymore. He pulled out his cell phone and saw he had no service. "Tony!" Pepper called out to him, trying to get his attention. "Yes?" He looked up. "What? I'm trying to figure that out." He quickly told her. "Let's just start looking around." Pepper suggested with a sigh. Tony put his phone away and followed the woman. Tony had on dark green cargo pants and a black tank top. He had a few items stored away in his pockets but unlike Pepper, he didn't have anything to actually arm himself with. He kept glancing down at her gun before he focused on the view ahead. "Something's up there, some abandoned building or something." Tony spotted. He jogged a little closer with Pepper following slower behind. Tony glanced around and could hear people talking. He crouched down and hide behind a few large, but empty oil drums. Pepper caught up to him and he motioned for her to get down and stay quiet. "This doesn't sound good, whatever is." He muttered as he looked around and saw a battered looking limo caked in dust and a few bullet holes, as well as a crowd of people. Many were armed but only one or two seemed to be basically defenseless. A young child was at the center as she threw down her backpack, emerging from a small building that may have been some kind of warehouse in its past life. The girl let out a cry before metal-like claws shot out of her top knuckles and she charged at the men with guns. Tony ducked out of instinct and turned back to Pepper. "Yeah, we gotta go." He quickly. "Go? What? Where?" Pepper huffed and stood up to see the young dark haired girl doing quite a lot of damage. "We have to help her." "How? I don't have my suit." Tony pointed out. Pepper looked to him and pulled out her own gun. Tony patted down his cargo pants and found he had a laser cutter, a screwdriver and a small device that had an electrical output when charged by solar. Before he could stop her, Pepper moved around and held out her gun, not sure who to really point it at. "Pepper." Tony protested as he decided the screwdriver would be the best tool given the chaos ensuing around them at the moment. As Laura was tearing the various men limb from limb, she looked to see Logan trying to get Charles and drive off. Laura let out a growl and turned to see a red haired woman come around and shoot one of the men she was currently disemboweling. "You alright!?" Pepper called out to the young girl. Laura leaped off the man as the man fell to the ground to bleed out. Tony was finally forced to emerge as he clasped the tool in his hand and managed to take out one of the men as they started to close in on them. He looked around and didn't recognize anyone. In fact he spotted someone with a rather interesting mechanical hand. The inventor inside Tony, was rather curious but he also knew there wasn't time to sit around and chat, swapping stories. "What the hell is going on here and where are we exactly?" Pepper demanded as Tony hurried beside her, wiping his bloody screwdriver on the arm of a corpse to clean it. Pepper knew she probably sounded crazy but she now turned her attention toward the limo that was coming back around toward them. She cocked her gun, not sure whether to shoot or not. Laura growled at Pepper which Pepper indicated, was an order not to shoot, so instead she put the safety back on the gun as a few of those still left breathing by some miracle, began to pile into a large SVU. Now Pepper and Tony felt quite ill-equipped and very much out of place.
