Along with this comes a very slight, almost underweight looking, frame. They have a naturally high metabolism and lighter bones than the average human, as if their body was built in preparation for flight even when they lack wings. Rori is far from athletic but due to their metabolism, and general lack of eating, they don’t have to make much of an effort to stay as skinny as they are. However this means they come off as rather scrawny and often could be mistaken for as someone much younger. This isn’t helped by how flat their body is, with a general lack of curves and hips. They have a sizable chest but this is rarely noticeable due to the fact they almost always wear a binder. This gives them a very androgynous, if boyish, look. Rori has a fair few scars dotted about their body, especially along their arms. However these are barely noticeable on their already pale skin and are often covered by clothing or feathers. Rori’s hair is short and left relatively untamed, a brush or two and they’re done with it. It’s naturally an auburn red which they hate, however right now it’s dyed a dark sea green colour. Rori is very pale, paler than the typical Caucasian due to their Irish blood and ginger hair. They have freckles that cover her face and body. Along with these is the inability to every tan in the sun, instead Rori will burn after a short time in it. They have large yellow-brown eyes which are larger than normal and odd, not quite looking human. Their face is soft with very little definition, only serving to make them look younger. Due to their powers, Rori also has various non-human features. The first, and most obvious, unnatural thing about them is their eyes. These are a more yellowish brown than found in humans (in fact neither of her parents have brown eyes) and are more like that of a bird’s than a human. Due to this they have superior vision to humans, with the ability to see much further, but they also don’t have the same capability to move their eyes in their socket. This means they often have to move their head around to see to the side. Sometimes it is noticeable that they do not blink normally. Instead they have a third hidden eyelid, the nictitating membrane, that does it for them. More hidden are the feathers that cover a lot of their body. They are found on their top half, beginning as soft down feathers around their neck and lower arms. These are spaced out and still quite soft at the front of their body. However they turn into more proper feathers at their back, with full dense feathers that eventually thin out and become softer at their waistline. Their feathers are brown with a slight reddish, auburn hint. The feathers at their chest are more red than the other areas. These are slightly spread down their upper legs.
▼ ATTIRE:
Rori’s first go to when it comes to clothing is comfort. They tend to lean more towards baggy clothing and stuff that covers them up as much as possible. Most often they’ll be found in baggy shirts, hoodies and sweaters. They quite like to wear dungarees of varying styles, in blues and greens, or looser fitted jeans. When it’s hot they’ll generally wear dungaree shorts that fall to their knees and never anything shorter, ensuring that their feathers are covered. They’re almost always found with long sleeves to cover these up if they're outside, and a scarf to cover the feathers at their neck. They will only relax and remove some layers in the presence of close friends or alone. They tend to wear a mix of green, blue and brown but have never been one to be too concerned about what they’re wearing.

Accessing Psychological Evaluation Processing...

═══P S Y C H O L O G I C A L E V A L U A T I O N═══
"Isn’t it easier to be positive?" [sup]▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔[/sup]
▼ PERSONALITY:
Rori is an incredibly bright and cheerful person on the outside, more often found with a grin on their lips than not. It’s rare to find them not smiling and they try to keep up even in the harder situations when it’s a facade. They find that smiling helps to cheer other people up and they try their hardest to do just that, along with having an astounding ability to make the best out of even the worst situation. However, their continual optimism and cheerfulness can get a bit annoying at points. This is balanced out by Rori’s natural friendliness and enjoyable company, even if they have a bad habit of never stopping talking when they start. Rori isn’t the most socially aware due to spending a lot of time alone in their youth but they improved over their years in the Academy. They absolutely do not know when to shut up, and will just keep talking until someone tells them to. A lot of their constant talking and cheer comes from Rori’s high energy. They are fairly hyperactive and have a difficult time concentrating on tasks they don’t enjoy and always seem to be bouncing with energy. It can make them exhausting to be around because they just don’t stop. Even with only a few hours sleep Rori will be bright and raring to go, they never seem to get tired. God forbid they have coffee, in which case they’ll actually be bouncing off the walls. Rori tends to stay away from caffeinated beverages thanks to this. Due to their constant energy they’re the type to take on a lot of work for others, always offering to help. They’re reliable if a bit much at times. Contrary to their outwards personality, Rori isn’t perfectly happy and carefree. Sure, they’re an optimist, but they’re nowhere near the cheerful persona they make themselves out to be. In many ways they use this and their naturally high energy to hide behind. They went through a lot during their younger years and it’s taken a toll on them. In fact Rori isn’t very emotional at all. They rarely feel strong emotions and are rather apathetic in the end, numb to both true happiness and sadness. Their lack of emotions mean that they can have a hard time empathising with those who are being affected strongly by them. They don’t have particularly strong opinions as well, more likely to go with the flow and not voice any wants they have. Rori also have trust issues that come from both their parents and lack of stable support up until going into the academy program. Even if they make friends easily they are not quick to entirely trust someone and they will rarely turn to others for help, bottling all their issues up until they grow numb to them. They fear not being accepted by others as well, both due to their gender and power. Rori is always expecting the shoe to drop and for the people around them to turn on them and abandon them, just like their parents did so many years ago. But this is all something they keep to themselves - after all, it’s easier just to pretend to be perfectly happy.
▼ SKILLS/TALENTS:
Rori’s main skills lie in their creativity. They’ve always had a love for it, and a large imagination which adds to this. They’re good at art, focusing primarily on watercolour and beginning to delve into digital now that they have the resources. Their art tends to be of a fantasy nature, combining elements of things they’ve seen with whatever they can think of with their imagination. This goes hand in hand with their creative writing. Along with this Rori has a natural talent for music. They’ve played the violin since a young age, and even a few years without it they’ve picked it up easily again. Along with this they play the piano and the flute, and pick up new instruments with relative ease. They have a good sense of rhythm and a good musical ear. They also compose music occasionally but it is not something they’ve delved into much. Aside from their creativity, their main talents lie in friendliness. They’re very cheerful and easy to be around, generally excelling in social situations and making friends with relative ease. They also have some basic survival skills, but most of them are reliant on being in bird form. Along with this thanks to their physique and time spent as a bird, they’re very good with heights and fond of climbing up to high places. Their parents were strict parents that brought up their children religiously, with opinions against a lot that they’d view as “strange and unacceptable.” This included being incredibly anti-deltahuman. Unlike most of their siblings, Rori didn’t really believe what their parents did. They went along with it because they didn’t have much choice. This made them something of the black sheep of the family, with their general disinterest in going down any academic route their parents might want them to. They didn’t have much in common with their siblings, but got on relatively alright with them thanks to their friendly personality. The person they were closest to was their older cousin Max, who was five years older than them. Even with the gap they were good friends and Max was someone that Rori looked up to. However their parent’s didn’t particularly approve of that part of the family for all that they grew up in the same area. As a result, there was a large fallout that resulted in Rori being cut off from seeing Max. Soon, their older cousin moved to a different city anyway. Their life was relatively normal up until age eleven. It was at this point they became aware of their discomfort with their gender, and the body that came with it. They didn’t feel like a girl, or a boy, and through internet research discovered the existence of nonbinary genders. They settled on this and that they didn’t feel like either and was left with the decision on whether to tell their parents. They decided they would, which backfired when their parents' reaction was negative and they were told to never speak of it again. This led to an incredibly unhappy period of their life when they were forced to go under their deadname and their parents tried to push them into things they deemed “girly” more than ever. They began to withdraw from the friends they had in school and instead moved online, where they could be themself, and found solace in music and the instruments they played. A few years later they were exposed to Delta-Point Energy, likely due to contact with other Deltahumans (they can’t pinpoint the exact point this happened). Their ability developed slowly and naturally. It started with their eyesight improving, suddenly they could see much further than before. Then they couldn’t blink properly, couldn’t move their eyes. Then feathers began to form all across their body. These changes terrified Rori, who was only thirteen and had little idea of what was going on. They’d heard about Deltahumans, and had a pretty good idea what was happening, but didn’t know much beyond that. The panic over what was happening caused them to change entirely into a bird for the first time, resulting in an excruciating pain. They hid these changes as best they could, wearing scarves and long sleeves at all times. They knew their parents’ opinions and didn’t want to find out what would happen if they were discovered. They managed this for almost a year, practicing and using their bird form to get some kind of freedom. It was all going well until their parents walked in on them mid-change. The fear and disgust on their parents’ faces was enough to show their opinions, only added on by overheard private phone calls. The things they suggested be done were… difficult for a fourteen year old to deal with. So they did some research, finding out where their cousin lived before packing a bag and running away. They only managed to grab a small amount of money, enough to get them to the next town over. From here they lived on the streets and in forests, travelling primarily in their bird form. Often they would spend days at a time as a bird, getting caught up in flocks of the same species as it was the closest to proper contact they could have. Eventually, after a couple of years, they made their way to Max by nothing short of a miracle (being a bird doesn’t come with inbuilt GPS). First Max was shocked to have her younger cousin turn up out of the blue, literally changing from a bird in front of her. At this point Rori had spent so much time as a bird it was difficult to function as a human, but with the help of their cousin they got back on their feet (literally). But, unfortunately Max was a young adult working for FAMA… who really didn’t have the time to take in her teenage cousin. So she pulled a few strings and got Rori enrolled in Academy 002 in South Carolina. It was here that Rori got a chance to properly go back to some semblance of normal, and make friends that they’d never had. Even without astounding powers like some of the others they flourished here, feeling like they’d finally found a place that they belonged

Accessing Power Evaluation Processing...

═══P O W E R E V A L U A T I O N═══
"Number one bird person at your service." [sup]▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔[/sup]
▼ CLASSIFICATION:
Type-Yellow
▼ POWER INFORMATION:
▼ Permanent Bird Features
Rori has a few birdlike features that remain even when they are in a humanoid form. Their eyes are more birdlike than most. This gives them a much better vision than normal people, meaning they can see longer distances and colours in the ultraviolet spectrum just as birds do. However with this they struggle to move their eyes and often have to move their head around to look in other directions. Along with this they have light down-like feathers covering a lot of their body - including along visible parts of their body like their arms and neck. This acts as an extra layer of clothes in terms of keeping them warm. Their bones are also lighter and stronger than most, like a bird’s, as if to allow for them to fly. However they have no way to fly as a human, so these just make them lighter than they look. It allows them to jump higher than the normal person but they weren’t quite blessed with wings as a human. They also have a very high metabolism as a result, being able to eat loads (and having to) without gaining weight.
▼Transformation
Rori can transform fully into a few forms of birds. As a bird they have all of the features of a bird and it is difficult to tell the difference between them and a normal bird. However they retain their intelligence and mind, mostly. This ability comes with all the features of the bird they turn into. They turn into a slightly smaller than average bird of the species with average capabilities, such as speed and strength.

▼ LIMITS:
Difficulty rolling their eyes due to them being like a bird’s and as a result has to move their head more. Their eyesight is better than normal humans but not quite as good as the best birds eyesight. Rori is limited in the types of birds they can turn into. They can turn into any birds in the following categories:
Thrush Hawks Falcons (preference for Kestrels) Hummingbirds Tern Owls
They can only do this comfortably four times per day, and more if they push themselves. They can’t talk as a bird even though they keep their intelligence, and are limited by… well, what a bird can do.
▼ WEAKNESSES:
If Rori looks into the far distance for too long they can strain their eyes, causing their vision to blur and giving them headaches or migraines if they do it too much. Their feathers cause them to overheat easily due to being an extra layer. They get incredibly exhausted and ravenous after changing from their bird form back to their human form, which is worse the more frequently they do it. This can easily be solved by eating food and napping. However if they don't get this they are prone to collapse without warning or faint from the fatigue. Along with this they need to eat more than normal anyway. The longer they stay in their bird form the more they take on the characteristics of the bird. It is likely that if they remained as a bird for a prolonged period of time they will forget who they are and how to turn back into a human. Then Rori would be permanently stuck in bird form. Rori also sometimes gets stuck mid-change which is incredibly painful and traumatic. It can take them hours to get out of this state. Along with this they are often left in pain after the change and feel like they have limbs that they no longer have (such as wings). Then feathers began to form all across their body. These changes terrified Rori, who was only thirteen and had little idea of what was going on. They’d heard about Deltahumans, and had a pretty good idea that was what was happening, but didn’t know much beyond that. The panic over what was happening caused them to change entirely into a bird for the first time, resulting in an excruciating pain back. So she pulled a few strings and got Rori enrolled in Academy 003. That’s how they ended up here, ready to start a hopefully fun new life. They can turn into any birds in the following categories:
Thrush Hawks Falcons (preference for Kestrels) Hummingbirds Tern Owls
They can only do this comfortably four times per day, and more if they push themselves. They can’t talk as a bird even as they keep their intelligence, and are limited by… well, what a bird can do.
▼ WEAKNESSES:
If Rori looks into the far distance for too long they can strain their eyes, causing their vision to blur and giving them headaches or migraines if they do it too much. Their feathers cause them to overheat easily due to being an extra layer. They get incredibly exhausted and ravenous after changing from their bird form back to their human form. This can easily be solved by eating a lot of food and a long nap. However if they don't get this they are prone to collapse without warning or faint from the fatigue. Along with this they need to eat more than normal anyway. The longer they stay in their bird form the more they take on the characteristics of the bird. Rori also sometimes gets stuck mid-change which is incredibly painful and traumatic. It can take them hours to get out of this state. This is something that came from their mother's side of their family (though their father isn't exactly tall either). While it has never been something that particularly bothers Rori it does help to be something of an identifying factor. Along with this small height they are quite light which is a combination of a lack of muscles, a high metabolism and slightly lighter bones than you would expect (almost as if a preparation for her being able to fly, though they don't have wings when in a more humanoid form). Figure wise Rori is hardly athletic. It's quite obvious that they don't particularly make an effort to keep in good shape and is mostly skinny due to the virtue of a high metabolism and not eating too much. They do look quite scrawny. Born female Rori, when not binding, has a quite visibly female body. They have a quite well sized chest (much to their annoyance) which has never been particularly helpful in regards to their dysphoria. Thankfully, however, the rest of their body is more flat and boyish with a lack of curves at the hips. This means there's just one main area to deal with. Most of the time when they are out Rori will be found wearing a binder, which flattens their chest and gives them a much more gender neutral appearance. They’ve let their hair grown out a little bit, though it’s still as scruffy as it always has been just falling just above their shoulders. They’re considering cutting it short again anyway. Due to the rules at the school they went to it’s currently it’s natural auburn-red colour, though they are considering dying it again now that they’re back at Baybridge. Their skin is paler than the typical Caucasian light skin colour, typical of those with Irish blood. The freckles that cover their face and body come with the hair colour and complexion. As does the unfortunate burning when exposed to the sun for any length of time. High factor sun cream is needed to prevent this when they are out in the sun for even a few minutes. Their eyes are large, and not entirely human, set an average space apart in a quite round face. Their face shape is soft and childish. This, and their height, gives them the appearance of being younger than they actually are. Rori does have scars. Most of these are in less visible places, covered by clothing or feathers. There are a few one their face with the most noticeable being a thing scar along their cheek, starting below their eye. She doesn't talk about how they got it. There are also quite a few along their arms - again thin, white scars that are barely noticeable on her already pale skin. Along with the features shared by most humans Rori has some more... animalistic features. These come from their abilities, the bird thing not only being when they turn into them. The first, and most obvious, unnatural thing (for a human at least) about them is their eyes. The yellow tinge to the brown they are, and the fact that neither of her parents have brown eyes, is just part of it. Their eyes are more like that of a bird's than a human's. This means that they don't have the same kind of vision as human's and are often found looking around to try and see to the side due to not having the same capability to move around their eyes in their sockets. What is sometimes noticeable is the fact they do not blink... at least normally. Instead they have a third hidden eyelid, the nictitating membrane, that does the whole blinking action for them. The other not so visible feature is feathers than cover quite a bit of their body. These are found on their top half, beginning as soft down feathers around their neck and upper arms. These are more spaced out and still quite soft on the front of their body. However they turn into more proper feathers on their back. These full, dense feathers cover all of their back before becoming slightly softer around the waistline and then disappearing. Most of the feathers are brown, with a slight reddish hint. The ones on their chest are more red than the ones in other areas. They also have a set of bird wings; with a similar colouration to their feathers. These are darker at the bones, and more reddish the further out the feathers get. They have a span just under double the length Rori's arms when stretched out. Rori does also have other bird features but these are not visible.
Attire:
Rori goes for comfort over style in clothing. The clothes they wear are more gender neutral, and as a result go more towards being boyish. They would not be found dead in a skirt or dress and if forced into one would feel incredibly uncomfortable. They tend to wear more baggy shirts - preferably with sleeves long enough to cover the feathers on the top of their arms. These are sometimes plain, or sometimes have some kind of nerdy reference on them. They often wear jeans or more comfortable trousers and a hoody on top. Along with this they almost always wear some kind of scarf, even if it is warm - after all it's the easiest way to cover the feathers on their neck. The colouration of their clothing tends to be green and blue, along with black and white.

Personality
Innate & Outward Personality:
The first, most obvious thing about Rori's personality is that they always appear to be incredibly cheerful. They almost always seem to be smiling even if there isn't much to be happy about. This isn't to say they would be happy in what is a sad situation. But they do have quite an astounding ability to make the best out of everything. This optimism can be good sometimes but also annoying to others, along with their intense cheerfulness. Another main aspect of Rori's outward personality is how friendly they are. They enjoy spending time with others and often choose to do so. They just like talking. They talk a lot. More than they really should and to the point of annoying people (something they do quite often). While three years ago they weren’t particularly socially aware they’ve improved a lot since going to a school, meeting more people and making new friends. Along with this Rori is quite energetic and hyperactive. They have a difficult time concentrating on things they don't enjoy, mostly anything that isn't art, writing or music, and always seem full of energy. This makes them bright and adds to their cheerfulness but also makes them very exhausting to be around. They don't mean to be but it's just a thing that happens. Rori never seems tired even if they got next to no sleep and can be very difficult to keep up with. Rori isn't actually always happy. They are an optimist, yes. But they aren't as cheerful as they make out to be. In some ways they use it to hide other things. Rori isn't the best emotionally. They are not incredibly emotional but often the opposite - they do not feel strong emotions either way. It's been easier to pretend to be happy, though. People don't ask too many questions that way. It would have been impossible for Rori to go through some of the things they did and come out the other end unscarred emotionally. Rori is in a surprisingly good emotional state for what happened. They don't like to talk about it. Even before their powers manifested their parents weren't exactly good to them, a combination of Rori's lack of gender conformity and not exactly being the child they wanted them to be. This was added to by the dysphoria they themselves felt due to their physical body and being referred to as a girl. While it has been a long time since they were viewed as a girl there are still some lasting effects of this lack of acceptance. However, Rori keeps this all to themselvers. They feel that it's better this way. Rori isn’t much different than they were three years ago when a teenager – they’ve matured a bit and become more independent, but they’re still the same happy go lucky bird freak they were before.
Hobbies/Interests:
Writing: Rori loves writing. Their writing tends to tend towards fictional story and they often get inspired with various story ideas, which they keep written down in a book. They are often found writing in a notebook or typing something up on a computer. Art: Rori also loves drawing and painting, most often drawing in a sketchpad. Quite often their drawings are related to stories they are writing or are of birds. They’ve widened what they draw recently, and have started selling some art online. Music: Rori is musically talented and learned a lot of instruments at a young age. They picked back up a lot of them two years ago with very little loss in skill. They play piano, clarinet, violin and Irish tin whistle with plans to learn more. They especially like traditional Irish and Scottish music.
Skills/Talents:
Socialising: Rori is incredibly friendly and cheerful, if a bit shy, meaning they excel in social situations and find it easy to make friends. In general they are very easy to get along with. Their ability to make friends is a bit of a talent. Creative: Adding on to her hobbies is a natural talent. Rori is very skilled at both writing and drawing/painting and this talent is added to by hard work. They have quite an imagination, which helps. Musical: Rori also has a natural talent in music, adding to their creativity. They play quite a lot of instruments and find new ones easy to pick up. They also have a good sense of rhythm and a good ear, finding sight reading music easy. This has been added to by going to an art school, getting the opportunity to play in groups meaning that they have really improved their musical talent.
Goals/Motivation
Art & Music: Having achieved her goal of attending school, and going to an arts one for three years, Rori is concentrating on honing her art and music so that she can make some kind of career out of it. Friends / Family: A large motivation for Rori is still friends. The shake up of her life 3 years ago has changed a lot for Rori, but she’s still tried to keep in contact with everyone she was friendly with in Baybridge. She would also like to reconnect with her family – especially now that she’s lost Max.
History/Bio:

Rori was born to a relatively large family. They were the fourth child born into the family, with an older brother and two older sisters. Their younger brother was born just a year after they were. Their parents were strict Christians and brought up all of their children to be religious as well. This wasn't something that Rori ever liked but they had to go along with it. Along with this their parents were incredibly anti-metahuman. Even though Rori had little in common with their siblings they always tried to get along with them and most often succeeded. They got on best with their younger brother, Conor, though he was rather annoying. There was the smallest age gap between the two of them which helped. However the person Rori did got on very well with was their cousin, Max. The two families grew up near each other and Rori would spend a lot of time with their cousin. The two got on, though Max was a much less friendly and more troublesome individual than Rori. However when Rori was eight there was a fall out between the two families. They were forbidden from seeing Max again and eventually Max and her family moved away to another city. Rori lived a relatively normal life until they were twelve. It was at this point that they began to become aware enough to question they had been assigned at birth. Rori certainly didn't feel like a girl, felt uncomfortable within their own body and disliked being lumped in with either of the binary genders. They eventually came to the conclusion that they were neither. It took a lot of courage but they told their family. The result wasn't good. The only reaction they got was negative and then given the strict warning to never talk about it 'or else.' This was one of the more unhappy periods of Rori's life as they were forced to keep going under the name Roisin and as a girl. It was years after this that their powers began to manifest. The change was subtle at first. Their eyesight changed - getting better. Then they stopped blinking and began to form light feathers across her body. They did their best to hide this even though they didn't know what was going on. Rori panicked a lot more when they first changed shape into a bird. Having no idea what was going on and panicking slightly they continued to try and hide it. They were around twelve when their parents walked in on them mid-change. It was safe to say Rori became more of a disappointment than they had been before. The fear on their parents faces was clear. For the next few days their parents said nothing. But Rori noticed the difference, and heard the private phone calls they made. Their parent's hatred for metahumans seemed to extend even to their child. Things took a turn for the worse when Rori overheard a conversation her father had on the phone that suggested they would send Rori away to have their powers removed and, if that wasn't possible (which is clearly wasn't), to have them killed. Feeling even more scared than before Rori didn't have much choice but to pack a bag and run away from home. They lived on the streets for a while, getting by however they could. After a short while they managed to get enough money to pay for a bus. They didn't care where it went as long as it was away. They ended up in Baybridge. It took them a bit to figure out how the weird combination of towns worked but soon found out how Baybridge was set up. They somehow made their way to Faircrest Woods and, well, the forests there seemed like a good place to set up. It was better than the streets at least. It was here that Rori learned to control their power better. They had to learn how to survive in forest areas. The ability to turn into a bird help - after all they could hunt as certain birds. They found they could stay in the form of a bird for days on end without losing their humanity. This also helped with hiding from other humans that may wander into the forest. It wasn't a great life, but it could have been worse. However they did have cravings for human contact. Often they would take trips to the more central areas of Baybridge and occasionally, upon talking to locals, would get some kind of small change. They always saved this up to buy notebooks and kept up writing and drawing even when living an odd life in the forest. It was one of these trips that led to them bumping into their cousin, Max. Rori and Max hadn't seen each other for years, however they recognised each other. It was something of a coincidence that they met again but a good one, at least for Rori. Max had just come out of the Academy Program, and was about to begin training to join RAVEN. After talking to Rori and finding out their condition Max used some money left over from her parents to buy a house in a middle-class area in Baybridge, deciding to support Rori while they worked out what they wanted to do. That was two years ago. In the time between Rori has began to be more who they are, finally having the money to buy clothing such as binders to alleviate physical dysphoria they have. They picked up a lot of musical instruments again - an expense that annoyed Max, but she was more okay with it after Rori starting playing in public places and picking up some money here and there. Along with this they have access to technology - a phone and a laptop. The laptop is more used for writing and they have started to talk to people through the internet.

Two years later. Rori enjoyed living in Baybridge; they had began to make friends. It started with one close friend, and then they met another at a celebration for a community opening. It seemed pretty great. They then made another - accidentally at first when being pulled in as a bird by the other's air powers. They met in person, though, and got on pretty well. Then they got caught up in the second of the overload incidents. This caused their bird features to become more pronounced and they went through the agonising experience of growing wings they didn't have before. This left them in a pretty bad state. They then, unluckily, got stuck in the third overload incident. They tried to survive it better as a bird, but this only ended up with them getting stuck mid-change. They came out of it with a broken arm and wing. They also, unfortunately, were out with friends when everything literally started turning into trees. However they escaped unscathed due to the friends they were with. After the overload incidents Rori managed to stay out of any more of the incidents happening in Baybridge, as much as any normal citizen could. However they weren’t entirely unaffected. During the fight with the Founding Family Max died, leaving Rori without any kind of guardian. Thankfully Max left Rori with just about enough money to get by.

With Max’s death Rori cut themselves off slightly as they tried to figure out what to do. They finally motivated themselves to apply for going back to school, selecting specific art schools which also offered boarding. They got into one on the other side of the country so packed up and moved there, doing three years of school (with a lot of catching up to do) before leaving just a few months ago. Now with more experience with both music and art they’ve moved back to Baybridge, into the house that Max left to them, in the hope that they can make a career out of it vaguely peacefully.

Relationships
Family:

Breandan Aherne - Father Elizabeth Aherne - Mother Aiden Aherne - Older Brother Sairose Aherne, Eva Aherne - Older Sisters Conor Aherne - Younger Brother Felipe Diaz - Uncle (Deceased, Regeneration) Naomi Diaz - Aunt (Deceased) Salvador Diaz - Cousin (Regeneration) Maxine Diaz - Cousin (Deceased, Power Stealing)

Dynamics:

| Wendy Lucker |
| Good | Friend | "Wendy was probably the first friend I had after moving to Baybridge. Even so Haruka was nice to them and it left an impression. The two met again as humans briefly in the Academy's library. In the past three months, since everything has died down a bit, Rori has been spending a lot of time with Haruka. They've really bonded over music and writing, often playing different pieces together. Rori really views him as a good friend. Like Wendy, Rori hasn’t seen Haruka for a few years. After the incident in Ranchester Mall there have been some changes to their bird physiology, making them even more of a bird-human hybrid. The feathers that covered most of their body have thickened greatly. Along with this they have spread, right down to their hands and up to underneath and around their chin. They have now also grown a pair of wings. These wings are mostly impractical with a span just under double the length of their arms held out. While they have grown longer than when they initially appeared, the fact she is a human with wings means flying is somewhat impractically. They can maybe get a bit above the ground for some period of time, but it’s easier just to change. Along with this Rori has some longer feathers at the base of their back; making a sort of tail. This is something that came from their mother's side of their family (though their father isn't exactly tall either) and one feature that they share with their cousin, Max. This neutral appearance was added to by the fact that they kept their hair, currently dyed a dark blue, short and scruffy. However the past three months they've let their hair grow out a bit more; it now falls in more of a scruffy, unruly bob a bit above their shoulders. It's really due being cut anyway it's so messy. They have a span a bit longer than Rori's arms when stretched out; however these wings are still growing.

However even if they are a very social person Rori isn't necessarily the most socially aware. This isn't through any fault of their own but more due to being isolate for about three years of their life, and not going to school since they were twelve. This has limited the amount of actual social interaction they can do. So for all their eagerness to get to know people sometimes they just don't understand boundaries or when to stop being friendly and talking. They also probably wouldn't realise if someone was taking advantage of them. They are getting better at this. However, Rori keeps this all to herself. They feel that it's better this way. Even so, Rori really is quite friendly. But part of this comes from looking for acceptance - as the person she is, both with the whole human-bird hybrid thing and being a gender out with of the 'normal' binary.
Survival: Rori survived for quite a time on their own, and had to learn survival the hard way. They figured out how to survive in more natural environments including scavenging for food, cooking on an open fire and similar. They also learned how to make shelter and hunt (as a bird, admittedly). They also lived on the streets for a bit, however got by in a less good fashion there and could hardly be called street wise.
Goals/Motivation
School and College: One of Rori's main goals in to make their own life. They've spent a lot of their time just trying to survive before living with their cousin, with a life dependant on Max. They haven't been to school since they were thirteen and the only thing that isn't behind others their age is their writing and reading. A large goal of theirs is to get into college, preferably for art or music. Friends / Family: A large motivation for Rori is to make friends. While they find this easy, in general, situation has meant they don't get to spend much time with others. However over the last two years they've spent more time talking to people through the internet and hope that that will help them, along with the possibility of trying to start college. They would also ultimately like to reconcile with their family but doubt that that'll ever happen.
Now their arm is finally fixed, and their spending most of their time out and about due to their cousin being away. During this time they've began to look into going back to school again. Recently their younger brother, Conor, contacted them and their hoping to meet with him and get back into contact with family. This is maybe, just slightly, because Rori doesn't really have any other friends. To Rori it's a bit of a shock to be (seemingly) accepted both in terms of their gender and less human like features. Rori likes having someone to talk to about one her main passions, art, which is something her cousin has no interest in. Rori has also been eager to grill Wendy on what it's like going to school but hasn't quite gotten round to it yet. The two met again as humans briefly in the Academy's library. In the past three months, since everything has died down a bit, Rori has been spending a lot of time with Haruka. They've really bonded over music and writing, often playing different pieces together. Rori really views him as a good friend.

Abilities
Power Class:
Super-system (Bestial)
Power: Bird Physiology
Rori has a few birdlike features that remain even when they are in a humanoid form. Their eyes are more birdlike than other humans. This gives them a much better vision than normal humans meaning she can see longer distances and colours in the ultraviolet spectrum just as birds do. However with this they struggle to move their eyes and often has to move their head around to look in other directions. Along with this they have light down-like feather covering a lot of their body - including along visible parts of their body like their arms and neck. This acts as an extra layer of clothes in terms of keeping them warm. They're bones are also lighter and stronger than most, like a birds, as if to allow for them to fly. However they have no way to fly as a human, so these just make her lighter than she looks. It allows her to jump higher than the normal person but she wasn't quite blessed with wings as a human. However after the incident in Ranchester Mall there have been some changes to their bird physiology, making them even more of a bird-human hybrid. The feathers that covered most of their body have thickened greatly. Along with this they have spread, right down to their hands and up to underneath and around their chin. They have now also grown a pair of wings. Unfortunately for Rori these are rather impractical; their current total width is the length of Rori's two arms spread out. They don't show any sign of growing further (thankfully, as the first time was painful). As a result they are nowhere near large enough to allow Rori to fly. The wings allow Rori to, at most, hover a few centimetres above the ground. Along with this Rori has also grown some longer feathers at the base of their back; making a sort of tail. Rori doesn't like these changes.
Transformation
Rori can transform fully into a few forms of birds. As a bird they have all of the features of a bird and it is difficult to tell the difference from her and a bird. However she retains her intelligence and mind, so often if a bird is acting as a bird should not it is probably Rori. This comes with all the features of whatever bird she turns into. She tends to turn into the average bird for that type in terms of size, strength and speed.
Limits:
Difficulty rolling their eyes due to them being birdlike and as a result has to move their head more. their eyesight is better than normal humans but not quite as good as the best birds eyesight. Rori is limited in the types of birds she can turn into. At the moment she can turn into a thrush (she tends to go for a robin), a kestrel, a hawk, a hummingbird, a duck and an owl. She can turn into any species from these sections. Along with this she can only make the change a few times per day unless she pushes herself.
Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
If they look into the far distance for too long they can strain their eyes meaning that their vision will go blurry and it is difficult for them to see anything. Rori gets incredibly exhausted and ravenous after changing from their bird form back to their human form. This can easily be solved by eating a lot of food and a long nap. However if they don't get this they are prone to collapse without warning or faint from the fatigue. Along with this the longer they stay in their bird form the more they takes on the characteristics of the bird. It is likely that if they remained as a bird for a prolonged period of time they will probably forget who they are and how to turn back into a human. This would mean Rori would be permanently stuck in the form of a bird. Rori also sometimes get stuck mid-change which is incredibly painful and traumatic. It can take them hours to get out of this state. Along with this they are often left in pain after the change and feel like they have limbs that they no longer have (such as wings). Rori's new wings (if you could call them that) cause a lot of pain to them at the moment; they are stiff and often ache, and the skin around them gets cut if Rori moves the wings too much. This may only be a temporary weakness.

However, Rori keeps this all to herself. They feel that it's better this way. Even so, Rori really is quite friendly. But part of this comes from looking for acceptance - as the person she is, both with the whole human-bird hybrid thing and being a gender out with of the 'normal' binary.
Life is better for Rori now. But still, they don't want to depend on Max forever and are looking for ways to make their own life. Max is essentially supporting Rori and giving them a place to live. They're only getting closer now that Max is assigned to Baybridge and is permanently living in the house in West Woodlake.

| Salvador Diaz |
| Neutral | Cousin | "I don't know what to think about Salvador. The most contact Rori has with him is when he visits Max (due to living in Baybridge also). However, Rori doesn't exactly dislike him.

| Wendy Lucker |
| Good | Friend | "I really like Wendy! She's the first friend I've had in a long while... and she's my age! It's great." |
Even though the main thing that unites Wendy and Rori is art Rori views Wendy as a close friend.

| Ellen Nile |
| Mostly Good | Acquaintance | "I think Ellen seems nice, I just haven't spoken to her enough yet." |
Rori only recently met Ellen, and thought she seemed nice. Even so Haruka was nice to them and it left an impression. Rori hopes to meet him again

They aren't sure what they're exact height is. They are slightly lighter than average due to being quite skinny with a general lack of muscles. Rori certainly isn't athletic or strong looking, in fact they are really quite scrawny in that respect. Much to they're announced Rori is reasonably well sized at her chest, being around a C or D cup. Most people born female would be happy with this but it hardly helps with Rori's gender dysphoria. Most of the time Rori will be found wearing a binder to make her chest look a lot flatter. So in most circumstances Rori has a more gender neutral body and the lack of other curves helps this. To help in having a more gender neutral appearance Rori has their hair cut short. It is in a somewhat messy style, not so short that strands don't fall across their face. Occasionally they will style it in some way but often it is just left in a mess as if they had just woken up. While naturally Rori's hair is a dark red-ginger in colour, a rather nice colour, they tend to have it dyed. This is due to them being somewhat embarrassed about the hair colour - they were teased about it at a younger age. At the moment it is dyed a dark blue. Their skin tone is fair and freckled, with a myriad of freckles covering their face. They have light brown-yellow eyes, slightly more yellow than they are brown. These are quite large and probably the most predominant facial feature. Their face is slightly round in its shape giving them quite a cute appearance and making them look a bit younger than you would expect. Cute is probably a good term to use to describe Rori, and the smile that is permanently across their lips makes them look really quite friendly. On top of their more normal humanoid features Rori has a few that are not so humanoid. One unnatural thing about Rori is their eyes, though this isn't always obvious from a distance. They are more like a bird's than a humans and as a result does not blink with their eyelids but rather by a third hidden eyelid, the nictitating membrane. This isn't often noticeable however. Along with this various parts of their body are covered in a soft down-like feathers. These are a light reddish-brown in colour, similar to that of their natural hair. Most of the other bird features they have aren't easily visible. Clothing wise Rori tends to wear outfits that are more gender neutral. You won't find them in a dress or a skirt any time soon. They most often wear baggy and concealing shirts, with a binder underneath, and more loose jeans or trouser(pants) and trainers. They are almost always found wearing the same dark green hoody. They predominantly dress in green, with some darker blues to match their hair along with black and white.
Skills/Talents:
Socialising: Rori is incredibly friendly and cheerful, if a bit shy, meaning they excel in social situations and find it easy to make friends. In general they are very easy to get along with. Optimistic: Though not much of a skill, Rori can make the most out of a bad situation and isn't one to let what is happening get the best of them. This means they can help cheers others up and will keep calm if things take a turn for the worse. Creative: Rori is good at both writing and drawing/painting and enjoys doing both. They often get inspiration for stories for the most random things. They always carry a notebook or sketchpad around with them and often will just start writing or sketching. Musical: To add to their creativity Rori is quite musical. They play a few instruments, including the piano, clarinet, violin and Irish tin whistle.
They also enjoy listening to music and have a good sense of rhythm, always open to pick up more instruments.
Brief Backstory:
It was shortly after this that her powers began to manifest. They were around thirteen when their parents walked in on them mid-change. They lived on the streets for a relatively short amount of time before someone passerby noticed that they weren't your ordinary street kid and reported them to the NEST. It was decided that letting an untrained metahuman teen live alone on the streets wasn't the most sensible idea so instead Rori was introduced into the academy scheme. They have been there ever since and has gone back to their cheerful self, finally able to be who they want to be. As a result of not having a home to go back to they are permanent residents of the academy.

Power Information
Power Class:
Super-System (Bestial)
Power: Permanent Features
Ruri also sometimes get stuck mid-change which is incredibly painful and traumatic. It can take them hours to get out of this state. Along with this they are often left in pain after the change and feel like they have limbs that they no longer have (such as wings).

Relationships
Family:
Breandan Aherne - Father Elizabeth Aherne - Mother Aiden Aherne - Older Brother Sairose Aherne, Eva Aherne - Older Sisters Conor Aherne - Younger Brother Felipe Diaz - Uncle Naomi Diaz - Aunt Salvador Diaz - Cousin Maxine Diaz - Cousin
Dynamics:
Maxine Diaz | Goodish | Friend/Cousin | "I still like Max, but she's really changed since I last saw her. They tend to like to joke around with other people and can often be quite teasing. [*]Rori's father is Irish, and moved over to the US as a young adult
