Visual Description:

Written Description: Jack stands 5,10 with a lean athletic build and noticeable upper and lower body strength. He has short cut black hair, striking blue eyes, and a light skin complexion. While fairly young and fit he has a number of rather gruesome scars across his body. Ranging from gunshot entry and exit wounds, old knife lacerations, burn scars, and far more. The knuckles on his hand are hardened and covered in thick callouses. In regards to attire he is currently wearing a pair of steel toed boats, black cargo pants with a belt, a sleeveless black undershirt, and a zip up grey jacket. He keeps a holster strapped to his right thigh and has a pair of strap ties on the back of his jacket for tucking away any larger guns on his back. Personality: Jack is a stern, jaded, foul mouthed man who is quick to violence. He has a strong sense of justice that leaves him incredibly impatient with little to no tolerance for any bureaucracy in regards to the law. The man is the text book definition of 'loose cannon cop'. Bending, ignoring, or outright breaking the law he's supposed to maintain in order to uphold what's important and save innocent lives. Shooting, punching, and occasionally kicking men off rooftops first and asking questions later to whatever quivering pile of jelly is left. However Jack, despite his gruff outward appearance, is deeply haunted by his past failures and doesn't think very highly of himself. As a result he's prone to self-deprecating activities and over-medicating with anything that makes him feel good. In combat he's fearless, pressing forward with a Berserker-like suicidal abandon. Putting the lives of others far above his own to the point he no longer cares if he lives or dies. Game: Dead to Rights: RETRIBUTION Current Story: After Jack destroyed the Grant Anti-Crime organization and killed Redwater, putting a stop to his mad plans and avenging his father, he tried to settle back into the role of a police officer. However the harsh nature of the incident weighed heavily on his mind and Grant City only got worse as crime rates sky rocketed. In an effort to quell them Jack became wilder and even more reckless then he had been before. He saved lives, but put many more at risk including his own. Pushing things too far Jack was put on probation and temporarily relieved of his duties. Left with nothing more then to start drinking and stew in his problems, Jack at first didn't believe when the call to adventure came. Once he realized it was real he answered the call without a second thought. Hoping to better himself and finally do some genuine good. Weapon(s): Fists: Jack can use guns, but he is first and foremost a brawler. Punching, grabbing, kicking, and brutalizing opponents with his bare hands. He's by no means a martial artist, but he's more then capable against experienced hand to hand fighters. Handcuffs: While seemingly not much of a weapon, Jack can use one of the many pairs of handcuffs he has to restrain and 'arrest' weakened humanoid enemies. Allowing him to more easily capture vital targets or simply grab an enemy to use as an unwilling, mobile meat shield. A good swift in the backside and Jack can send them flying forward, into enemies or traps. Note: Jack can only 'arrest' creatures that fight a roughly humanoid body structure because his handcuffs can't fit on some giant Godzilla monster, much to his own frustration. He was found abandoned as a puppy and raised by Jack's father. Shadow came into Jack's possession once he set out on his quest for his father's killer. The dog proved to have a frightening degree of intelligence and capability in combat, more then capable of ripping out men's throats and...less appropriate aspects of their anatomy. While not capable of speaking, wielding weapons, or doing anything requiring hands, Shadow is intelligent enough to understand and carry out a large number of orders. He's able to attack foes, retrieve fallen weapons/items and bring them to Jack, and can even slip over or through obstacles in order to bring back something to open the path (slipping through a small hole in a hall to bring back a keycard, est.) Stats Level: 1 (P)Damage: 3 (P)Defense: 3 (M)(E)Damage: 1 (M)(E)Defense: 1 Dexterity: 2 Critical: 0% XP ////////// (0/10) Squad: Alpha General Abilities Level 1: Modern Semi-Auto Pistol: A simple blow-black handgun with an 8-round high caliber magazine. Standard issue for police officers in Grant City. It's nothing fancy, or even unique, but it packs a punch and gets the job done. Special Abilities Slot One: Items Slot One: -Empty- Slot Two: -Empty- Slot Three: -Empty- Strengths Physical Resilience: While Jack Slate is by all means a normal human police officer, he is possessed of a physical fortitude and pain tolerance ill fitting of a human being. He can suffer gunshot wounds, violent blows, suffer dislocated shoulders and fingers, and still keep on fighting. It takes significant injuries to truly make him incapable of returning whatever damage is sent his way. Handheld Weapon Mastery: Jack can pick up and use pretty much can weapon he can get his calloused mitts on. It doesn't matter if it's a modern shotgun or a futuristic laser-sight guided railgun sniper rifle. He seems to have instant mastery and understanding of anything he picks up and uses. Making him very adaptable and incredibly dangerous. Hand to Hand Combat Experience: While Jack can't exactly throw sonic blasts or punch through steel beams, his bare bones boxing technique is effective in his own right. Wailing on foes, whittling down their defenses, and striking underhanded blows to throw them for a loop. One of the key aspects of his hand to hand fighting is his ability to preform Takedowns. When an enemy is weak or injured enough, he has a chance to finish them off with a flashy and violent beat down. This allows him to quickly disable or kill enemies who might otherwise be able to recover or retreat when injured critically. Bullet Time: Through sheer adrenaline fueled concentration Jack's reflexes are heightened and his perceptions of time accelerates, stretching out the seconds and making everything appear in slow motion. While he can only maintain this state for a few precious seconds at a time, it allows him greater accuracy and focus when firing precision shots and attacks. Cooldown: 10 minutes Weaknesses *Nobody Special: Jack may be tough and capable of some neat tricks, but he's still human and currently lacks any particularly special or magical abilities. Putting him at a tremendous disadvantage against enemies resistant to good old physical attacks. *Limited General Growth: While competent, Jack has very little room for growth in regards to new general abilities. What he has is what he gets in terms of his own world's abilities. The most he can hope for is a new gun. *Long, Broken Arm of the law: Jack, despite being a police officer, is not one for following regulations or even the law itself. He's quick to break rules when they see to get in the way, making him the worst person when dealing with strict authorities or lawful powers. Achievements None at this time.
