Was the world ever different? Is fighting worth it? Am I asleep now and just don't realize it? I would give anything to rest-- anything to wake."[/sub] Name
Osana of the Low Roads
Age
"30" - But existing years is another matter entirely...
Appearance
Clearly a foreigner far from home. Osana's hair is cut and braided, an decorated with dark green gemstones to denote her "status". Shamans of the Low Roads regularly steal the flesh and fur of the horrible beasts which roam in the Dark Pit, so Osana wears pelts and furs, which give off a distinctly uncomfortable feeling when one is not accustomed to dealing with them-- as if their very existence is wrong. Tooth, fang, and claw of various sorts are strung together and wrapped around her waist and wrist-- means with which to evoke all sorts of Low Roads incantations. A gourd, decorated with a black sigil, is tied to her belt with a cord long enough for her to hold it at arm's length.
Personality
Loyalty steps forward as her most dominating trait. Be it to a cause or another, Osana seems unwilling to break a bond, even if it kills her. Her demeanor is serious, calculating, but she places a lot of faith in spirituality, despite it's reputation. Standing at contrast with these traits is a tendency toward paranoia, bouts of passive-aggressiveness, and a pessimism that can cause her to give in to bouts of deep depression and hopelessness. Her Shamanistic dreams and ventures have caused reality to become muddled for her. She often mistakes the real world for that of the dream, perhaps experiencing the first symptoms of God caused madness...
Past
Osana remembers very little, only that she is the last of her people. Who taught her the ways of Shamans only presents themselves as a blur within her mind. She recalls not how long she's been around, only that her deaths have been innumerable, and that she is missing a very important bladed staff of sorts. How long ago she came to misplace this staff, how she woke up so far from where she belongs, and why she feels a sudden urge to seek out another, all remain a mystery to her. Between bouts of Shamanistic dreams and horrors that defy her perception of reality, Osana has began her search in confusion-- not knowing wither or not she's still dreaming or awake.
Strengths
Low Roads Shamanism: The ability to perceive a world that exists in parallel to the current, to dream of paths unseen, and to receive the guidance of beings whose faces are twisted smoke and voices like that of the end itself. A variety of incantations and protective spells are within this magic of an unknown era-- they all focus on protection in a highly variable sense of the word. Staff, Spear, and Dagger Proficiency: Wielding such weapons comes as naturally as breathing to Osana. Her main means of survival come from ambush tactics and striking with an overwhelming flurry of blows.
Weaknesses
Is This The Real Life?: Mistaking the world of Shaman dreams and the real world could be overcome but, unfortunately, Osana has forgotten the means to do so. She has found herself striking at monsters in the shadows or being killed by those she thought could not harm her. This can be easily taken advantage of. Other Weapons?: Entirely untrained and very reluctant to use any other weapons than those she's been trained to use. Perhaps due to a lingering sense of "orthodox" left behind from her Shamanistic training? Unknown Era Magic: Every so often the beings that dwell within this era, like echoes of the damned, reach out toward Osana at the smell of her magic, with greedy claws and thirsty tendrils.
Items/Equipment
White Steel Dagger: White Steel weapons were forged during the 6th Era as a specialized executioner's tool. Osana's "dagger" appears to be a broken fragment of such weapons, with the lower half of the blade wrapped in beast hide. Something about it's properties make casting her spells easy. Likely the blood of the dead. Shaman's Gourd: A concoction of poisons, soil, blood, and "aether" was once blessed then poured into the gourd at Osana's waist. It can act as a healing salve, a beverage to drink, or an accelerant for flame depending on what words Osana whispers into it. The liquid self replenishes over time-- the gourd itself seems unwilling to break.
