On one hand he supposed it made sense, this was the quirk test after all. On the other hand, Asahi was almost entirely mediocre without it. If only Asahi's quirk actually had something to do with the Guardian One, like integrating machines into his body or something. Cybernetics would be cool. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Asahi had to go put the Guardian One away somewhere safe and out of the sun and do these evaluations without it. Fortunately this seemed to just be an assessment test and not a placement test, so Asahi didn't need to try and be beat anyone. That being said he was all too aware that the other students would looking at him and the others to size up their abilities. All Might said that they can use their quirks for these tests, so obviously everyone would be using their quirks to the fullest. Asahi had wished all these tests were some sort of endurance test, in which case he'd totally be the king. Alas, he'll just have to do his best. First was the fifty meter dash. Of course. Asahi did his best, and for him eight seconds was about as good as it gets. Better than it was in middle school, but still pretty bad. Next was the grip strength. Asahi was no strong man, that's for certain. His exercises were all about endurance and speed, so he didn't really do a lot of stuff that involved using raw strength. At least not unless it involved carrying heavy things around. Still, he was at least strong enough to crush cans with just one hand, so maybe there was something going on for him. The Standing Long Jump was pretty mediocre however. He did more landing than he did jumping after all. Side hops were also less than stellar, looking more like a bouncy ball himself. It wasn't until Asahi had to do the ball toss that he really wished he had the Guardian One here. Again, raw strength wasn't really his forte. If All Might wanted him to hit a target a thirty meters away Asahi was pretty confident that he could make it, but just throwing as far as he could? Not so much. Asahi managed to get sixty meters, and only after warming up and using all three of his throws. "Tch. Quirk's no use here huh..." Asahi went through the sit ups and seated toe touches decently. Asahi at least was able to get an average for the sit ups. For the seated toe touches he had a lot of trouble due to his gut, but eventually with a lot of squeezing he was able to grab his feet. Last was the long distance run. Just like the 50 meter run, Asahi didn't do great. He made it at least, and then tumbled to the ground to get some air. With the last of the tests done Asahi chose to chill in the sun. He was sweaty, tired, sore, and generally feeling like shit. He already knew others might be looking down on him. Wondering how a guy like him ever got into the hero course. Asahi wondered the same thing. On reflection, he couldn't help but wonder just how much better he would have done if he had the Guardian One with him. He could probably do better, if not as good, as some of the other students when it came to things like the grip strength or ball toss. Heck, he could even do way more sit ups and side hops in the Guardian One. The only thing that probably wouldn't improve would be the toe touches. But six out of seven wasn't too bad. Sitting up Asahi looked towards the sky. "Today's a nice day."
