edit: let me know where your charaters would fit in for roles on the ship. there's a bit of a list in the characters tab. I can get an idea form your backstories but I wanted to ask too 
if they don't have boat related skills, they'll go in "passengers" but it isn't like a passive role, theyll be useful on land
