Okay, so my apologies for not getting back to everyone in a reasonable timeframe. Real life, right? [s](Who am I kidding, I don't have a life)[/s]
This seems interesting. I would join. Since this is obviously fantasy being that mages are in it, are humans the only race playable?
Nope. Obviously, I wouldn't be surprised if it's predominantly human, but (within reasonable restrictions) anything sentient is welcome.
And those nations you can lord over; are they all pseudo European nations or can someone get creative like having Aztec nations, or Arab, Japanese, Tibetan, or what have you?
If you want to lord over a nation (or just have it exist as a point of origin for later use in your character's arc), you're more than welcome to design it as you see fit. I love me some pseudoeuro nations, myself, but I'm not barring off possibilities for anyone.
How do you intend to balance the myriad magical abilities so that generic wizards don't pull multiple immunities out of their buttocks on a regular basis?
That is a good question. The way I see there, there's two ways to go about it; forcing people who want to use mages to follow a strict set of guidelines (further sleep deprivation on my end to develop that), or the people who want to use mages can determine what is appropriate and what is not. Obviously, the latter puts a lot of trust in the idea that people will manage to behave. What direction we go with it may depend on public demand, and/or how many mages we end up with. With that being said, I'd be more than happy to accept help developing rules and whatnot if we do want to implement those.
I'm interested. I usually play my dimension-invading warlord, but i might change it up. Possibly a mundane nobody
Sometimes the most humbling of roles are the most interesting!
