	Killin is a man with good intentions, but good intentions are meaningless when your values are all shot. From a young age, he's been set adrift in a world of riches and ruin, a world where violence pays in gold, but perhaps at the cost of your soul. Though this lifestyle generally gives away his more or less skewed morals, his charismatic nature tends to give people pause. He can truly be a joy to be around, [I]can[/I] being the operative word here. He loves to have fun and to break the rules in the process. As such he goes through life from one adventure to the next, not being one to sit still for long. He's the life of the party really, that is if cocky flirts are your thing. At the end of the day though, he enjoys the company of people, some more than others if you catch my drift. 

	Yet, all the while, he keeps people at arms length. He has trust issues you could say, and personal matters to him are as the word suggests [I]personal[/I]. Dig too deep, and he will put up a cold front, or worse yet a spiked wall. Despite his unwillingness to talk about personal matters, the man's got a sharp tongue. He says things as they are, take it or leave it. If that doesn't get him into trouble, his rebellious nature coupled with a sharp mind and an admirable amount of resilience most certainly will. This is perhaps not what should truly cause you concern though. No, what should concern you is the touch of vengefulness he has in every fiber of his being and his diligence at following it through despite the moral codes it may break. All things considered, you could say he's always been one part heaven and one part hell.

[b][color=008080]General History:[/color][/b] At least three paragraphs. Tell us your life story. Who were your parents? What did they do? Where'd you grow up? Were there any defining moments in your lifetime? Any hardships you encountered? What made you the person you are today?

	Killin's saga is one cloaked in mystery and riddled with unspeakable violence. It's a tale he'll likely take to his grave. Killin, son of Merc, was born in 9th century Scandinavia during what was perhaps the height of the Viking era. As the son of a well-respected, and feared, earl, he had it made, or so people thought. Sure, he had a roof over his head, food in his belly, and didn't have to slave over the fields like the average free man. But behind closed doors his life wasn't so grand. For as long as he could remember his father was physically and emotionally abusive to him and all that and more to his mother Nadine. With that in mind, he tried to spend as much time outside his home and in the company of others as possible, as he had learned that that was the only thing that would keep his father's wrath at bay. However, once the sun set and he was forced to retire to the so-called safety of his home, the beatings would resume with a vengeance. He often found himself crying himself to sleep wondering why the gods had forsaken him.

	As the years went by things didn't get any better, they only got worse, much worse. Merc would go into fits of rage, which were often fueled by alcohol, over many times the simplest of things. However, one recurring theme always seemed to be Nadine's inability to conceive another child, which of course was likely due in part to the stress and daily beatings. Killin on more than one occasion tried to run away from home or tried to ask someone for help, but somehow, someway his father always seemed to find out and would drag him back home for yet another beating. Eventually, he just gave up trying to escape, and he came to the hard realization that perhaps people knew of his predicament and they just didn't care. His faith in humanity, let alone in the gods, was shaken to the core. In public he would put on a face that said everything was alright, when in actuality he was dying on the inside a little bit everyday. Everything seemed to come to a culmination, when at the age of 10, his father murdered his mother and made it look like it was some tragic accident. But, of course, Killin knew better, not that it really mattered though. He was too scared to say anything, so he suffered in silence for many years.

	As soon as Killin was old enough to start formal combat training, he threw himself into the endeavor wholeheartedly. Yes, he wanted to learn how to defend himself, and he aspired to one day join the raids; however, more than anything it just took his mind off of things and gave him an outlet for all his pent up emotions. Well, that and sleeping around [I]and[/I] drinking [I]and[/I] stealing. He would do whatever it took really to forget, to forget everything. And to rebel. The older he got the more bitter he got but also the more desperate he felt. At this point, he was willing to risk it all for an escape, and for [I]revenge[/I]. He was ready to dictate the direction of his own fate, the gods be damned. He began plotting in earnest, and these weren't the plots of a naïve child anymore. These were the plots of a young man who said [I][b]no more[/b][/I]. And at the age of 16, the day came when we would set his plans into motion. It was the day he would kill his father and escape to another settlement far from here. That night he drugged his father, and as he stood over the unconscious form of the man who had caused him and his mother insurmountable pain and suffering, he found--well, he found that he couldn't do it. He couldn't kill his father and risk plunging his heart forever into darkness. So, he fled and never stepped foot in that wretched house, in that wretched village ever again.
