Kresh had been attempting to calm down Eek when the so-called "Chief" Kichi showed up suddenly. It admittedly had been a surprise, but Kresh wasn't the kind of goblin to let this guy steal the show so soon. However, everyone (even Kresk, though you'd never get him to say so) seemed pretty intimidated this guy, who they'd never even spoken to before.

Kresh was genuinely a little scared of the chief, like the others, but his response to fear was always going to be bravado rather than cowardice. He, personally, would prefer to stand up to something bigger and scarier than himself even if he had no reason to expect victory. It was a little reckless, he knew, but it was far better than running and showing weakness.

When the chief began answering questions, Kresh decided to turn his attention back to Eek. No matter how stubbon she might prove, he would do his best to ensure she had someone she could trust.
