The past is behind her and it’s something she prefers to keep out of her mind on a daily basis, but time to time she does become reminded of it. She was the 2nd youngest of a quadruplet fraternal sisters, all succubi, that were heirs to a southern territory in Torqueo. There was a very unsettling tradition that occurred for several generations. It required all siblings reaching upon the age of 210 to be tossed into an arena and expected to kill each, the sole survivor would then be groomed to rule their home by their mother. It wasn't a surprise the current ruling Licenti had kept her distance with all her own offspring to prevent favoritism. Lily personally thought she was a shriveled up old husk of a bitch whose heart had iced over hundreds of years ago. Each child, herself included, was given a combat tutor who educated them upon their choice of fighting skills (both magic and physical), battle tactics and additional lessons that were endless in assisting their survival in the upcoming ritual. Rivalry at this time was encouraged and even created with the brief interactions they were allowed, often allowing each others to witness each other’s progress over time. Their tutors didn’t help much in preventing a subtle hatred toward each other either. Unlike her two sisters, Lily’s only reason for learning was mainly because she wanted to live. She was the most smug and least disappointed when the youngest ended up displaying magic long thought lost to their lineage. This automatically nulled any rights her or the others had to inherit their mother’s region. While her mother focused her attention on the ‘little princess’, Lily and her sisters were discarded to their own paths in life. After about a few months of traveling she set up shop within Tenebrosa, a medium town filled with Licentia ranging in various shapes, sizes, and breeds. For Lily, she found the scenery suitable to her needs and so began to make her home within the center. The town worked on a barter system of services, goods or other things, forcing her to find a contribution that Licentia needed and valued. Information became her trade, collected through a mixture of seduction, manipulation and even dream walking into the minds of others. Any local competition was easily dispatched through indirect means that suited Lily well. It was nothing personal, but she hated anything that reminded her of her childhood and competition happened to do that. This also ensured she always had customers. It was during her 547 years within Tenebrosa that she met a charming, to put mildly and politely, nightwalker named Szayeis. Over the course of her time in the town he visited her for information, the town being a crossroads for many a Licentia, through she was still inexperienced in dealing nightwalkers or their kin. On occasion Szayeis would bring a young Kitsune or a human girl alongside him, both she had quiet opinions over. During 1747, Lily began to make the transition to a new trial stage. This lasted a week or two at most since she had been collecting energy for years, leaving her feeling slightly off and all too aware of her vulnerability. Due to this, she sided on the caution causing her to shut herself in and not see anyone for a month until she became a Siren. She barely noticed the different when she became solid, through likely because she kept her dream abilities from her succubus’ stage, until her sharpened hearing caught the breathing of a large Licenti behind her door. After a few tests, she knew her full potential. It was also discovered that she had an enjoyment of music when she accepted, on a whim, a Licenti’s payment in songs. She leaned more toward alternative rock and symphonic genres as her favorites, due to their rapid and high pitch keeping her interest. Around 2011, she entered Medius for a change in scenery and to explore the world. Naturally through a few coaxed sources and some dream walking, she located Darius within Ominar where he had established himself well. At first, the Fox wasn’t sure what to think of her as she requested a job at the Lucky Sinner, requiring a more stable income compared to her current scraping to make ends meet. After all, Medius worked more on a currency system then the more common barter system in Tenebrosa causing her to seek a way to fill her own newly discovered passion: music. Wary and unsure of her intentions, Darius allowed her to become a singer and performer in the club part of his casino. She didn’t doubt he informed Szayeis about her current position and employment under the Kitsune. Personally, at the time, she didn’t give a damn. Surprisingly enough Darius and her earned a mutual respect, through it never flowered past the occasional roll in the sheets. Over 25 years she enjoyed singing, attracting the attention of numerous patrons and onlookers. Being a Siren, she still held onto her flirtatious nature and graceful charm to enhance herself as an individual. One night after a performance, a man named Samuel Kardan, a music scout of sorts, recruited her for his own company getting out of the gate. While a talented singer without the Vis vibrating through her vocal cords, her insecurities got the better of her and often she would use magic to enrich the sound to something appealing to others. Deep down, she suspected that caused him to notice and request her to create music for him. In 2036 she started her career as a singer. Though originally she refused to limit herself to one genre of music, her preference leaned into the alternative rock and symphonic metal since it seemed to fit with the times. Despite her age, all Licentia are entitled to mistakes and this was her biggest one. She let the frame and power get into her head, something she knew she shouldn’t have, leading to a terrible fate. It was during 2040 she met Rex, but it wasn’t an instant fall in love type of deal. Her sense of worth and attitude was a massive turn off for the large wolf. She was amazed, later, that he had stuck around for as long as he did. However, in 2046 she noticed someone in the crowd that gave her instincts the chills. A strange human, around his late twenties, made the nerves on her spine prickle in dread. Memories of him turning up in every concert started to surface while she became wary and over aware of his uncomfortable stares at her on stage. She only made it to the third song before she found herself rattled enough to walk off stage for an unscheduled break. She didn’t bother to let Rex know as she fell back into the nearby alley, somewhere she believed no one would’ve seen her, to try to talk her nerves down. It was mistake she would live to regret. She hadn’t even noticed he had followed her, a crazed and obsessed fan, until he stepped from the shadows. By the time she did, a bright wire of Vis had found her throat, her ankles and wrists as they sudden wrapped tightly about her petite form. Lily’s first instinct was scream but the moment she tried, the Vis made wire constricted and choked her into silence. Her next reaction was making area hot but her consciousness slipped from her and her panic rose in her chest, constricting her limited breath. She fell unconscious shortly afterward and in that moment… she knew she had screwed up royally. For a year, Lily went missing. No one knew where she had went and after a few weeks, people seemed to have stopped caring about her and she became a cold case. During that time she believed she was imprisoned in some sort of bunker. She later learned it was some refitted basement under a cabin in some backwoods of Europe. A strange device was strapped to her neck when she woke up causing her to examine it. It turned out it was a bit of archaic magi-tech, likely something stolen, that when it sensed Vis being used it would disrupt the Ostium and delivered a very pain jolt. Not all Licentia could tolerate pain as well as humans seem to assume. When the jolt rippled through her body, she crumbled and gasped in shock over the experience. She had only felt this degree of pain when she was child. When her unwanted host revealed himself, the man introduced himself as Norman. For the first time in her life, she learned humans could just as cruel and sadistic as some of her own kind when given the right conditions. This lasted as he played out some sick, twisted fantasy with her. During it all, she lost her sense of time and days melted together in the basement she was kept in. Only the sound of the door above opening or closing seemed to follow a rhythm. This continued for months. A year later, Norman slipped up and Lily sprung on the chance to escape. While he was getting the wine for them, he left her with one arm loose and free to use the crystal rose brooch given to her to unlock her collar. Empowered with magic again, she carefully replaced the collar back when she heard him return. The man didn't even notice. Lily took a risk then politely asked if she could sing him one of her songs to which he seemed over enthusiastic about and rest was history. Emotions are a powerful thing in humans, especially the broken. One could be driven to suicide by them sometimes. However, that was never her intention. It just went to show that even when she could influence emotions… she couldn’t predict an individual’s reaction to them accurately enough. When Rex found her, she was in shock and silently sitting upon her chair. In the corner, Norman's body was laid out upon the floor where a blade was laying, bloodied, a few feet from him. He had cut his throat open enough to bleed to death before he regretted his decision. While Tenebrosa had been known for its violence, she had managed to avoid coming face to face with it until now. The experience was rattling for her. Gently she was picked up and taken out, unaware of Rex's presence until much later in her recovery. Upon asking him what he did, he told her that he cleaned the mess and all evidence of it up. Only two things were spared from that day as a reminder of her experience and how she refused to ever be someone’s victim again. Over the next five years, Lily worked on recovering from her jarring experience. Putting her life back together was much more difficult than she originally anticipated as memories, nightmares, and worst kept cropping up when she believed she was over it. Eventually she learned to live with it thanks to help from Rex. She shifted in personality back to her less abrasive attitude caused her to spark interest in Rex, the both of them started off small by dating and grew into love in time. Things were good for a time until the Prae gradually began to occupy Ominar. No one saw it coming because it was so quiet and subtle, even she wasn’t aware of what happened until it was over. Rex couldn’t keep a job as the people associated with the Prae began to spread word that Licentia weren’t good to hire. They lost their home and were forced into the slum region of Ominar. While a part of her wanted to escape Ominar, she loathed the idea of being forced to yield to them and instead began to show her strength again. Since many of those in the slums were poor and outcast individuals, a bartering system had began to develop. Goods, services and even information were being traded among the slum region causing her to once more dip into what she was good at: collecting and selling information. During that time she managed to keep food on the table and roof over their head, barely, by selling intel over various subjects from raids locations to where love ones might’ve been. She fond it funny that coaxing information out of an individual was much easier in a dream and many of the OCPD loved to sleep in their cars during a stake right before a raid. It was about a year ago that Mr. Crowley approached Rex and her, offering them both jobs. She was suspicious at first. This man merely turned up without warning and she assumed knew both of them, rubbing her pride wrong enough that her intelligence was limited over this individual. This put her on edge when he seemed to have appeared from nowhere. Already having a shitty day, she might’ve overreacted when she was about to slam the door in Mr. Crowley's face. The man didn’t take no for an answer it seemed. After a long conversation, Rex became the head for Armax Security and she agreed to work as an information broker. It was a start to getting them out of the slums. They moved into the business district, but Lily still kept close ties with the Entertainment district and the slums. Lately, she’s been considering checking on Darius and once more risk treading old roads that have been haunting her for a long time.
[sup]♪♫[/sup]...Capabilities...[sup]♫♪[/sup]
Mental
Physical
Magic Siren Song Casting Time: 3-4 to 12+ seconds (from weakest effect to strongest) Range: Depends on a lot on terrain, sound pollution, etc. They have be within hearing distance (which my guess is 12 ft to 25ft maybe?) and not be deaf to be affected. Duration: Lasts as long as her voice holds out and her target can hear her. When deafen or silenced, the effect abruptly ends. Her voice, when empowered with Vis, can influence the emotions of those that hear it. She can pull an individual anywhere from joy to fear with the melody of her voice, but how they react is still within their control. Often it gives her an edge in tense situation or can rile up a crowd creating an awe inspiring effect for her. The stronger a being is in control of their emotions then the more difficult they are to influence. These individuals would have time to silence and null her ability to influence them with little issue. Through it can be done in a subtle way or obvious, her magic starts off weak and is required to be heard in order to build as the target(s) continue to listen to her sing or hum a melody. To be clear: It isn’t mind control in the least, but it alters the emotions. How the individual reacts to such emotion is a factor Lily can’t ever truly predict and run the risk it could be hostile in any given sense. The effect can fought when it becomes realized, her magic still influencing the emotion but the host can chose to control their reaction to the experience rather than give in; making the effect diminish gradually despite if the Siren Song has stopped or not. Siren Scream Casting Time: Instantly after a breath is acquired to cast it. After it ends, it will take a few seconds (2-3 seconds) to regain another breath to cast again. Range: 4 meters (12 feet about max range so far) Duration: 3-6 seconds (depending on breath) Putting her Vis into her voice, Lily can turn up her voice's volume and direct it at an individual or small group. Depending on the proximity, the area closest to her will be most influenced by the heighten volume and powerful blast of air rushing forward. Some victims have experienced their ears drums explode to being knocked off their feet, and even affecting the environment from windows shattering to the concrete cracking from the pure power of it. The farther individuals find themselves than the lesser the effect. The more breath she gathers before release, then the longer her range becomes during the attack until the breath ends. Distance is a key factor to how effective her attack is as it starts off strong and fades with travel, usually stunning at its weakest for a short time. It also travels in a straight line from where she starts and ends after 4 meters when released, starting off narrow and widening like a funnel (think cone shape with the narrow being the strongest effect to the wide end being the weakest). Hot n’ Cold Casting Time: Varies depending on the affected area. Area effect takes about 6 seconds for max effect and small, controlled magic like icicle or flamethrower takes 2-3 seconds. Range: Area effect is 5 meters in radius all around her while the control can reach up to double that. Duration: Varies again depending on the spell result. Area effect lasts about 18 seconds (or three posts at max) and controlled lasts 4 seconds before the temperature starts to return to normal. Being a Siren, Lily can influence the temperature within her surroundings by changing the subtle sound vibrations she emits from her body. Heating up merely means increasing the friction in the air which could result in setting things, people if they get caught in the back lash, or herself on fire allowing her punches to pack more heat than normal. One of her preferred tactics is centering them in her hands then blowing a blaze of flames into her foe's direction like a flame thrower or engulfing her whole body, only lighting the air around her body on fire for a limited time. The latter is often a limited use because she needs air to breathe or else she'll suffocate, weakening her. Cold is the opposite and all Lily needs to do is to slow the molecules in the air and let it start to freeze. In moments the temperature can drop to below freezing and colder, allowing icicles to form within the affected area and breath to fog over the longer she continues the effect. She can all focus her cold into her touch, the air or even send ice spikes at her target if needed and keep a distance should close range combat provide too dangerous. Carried over from her Succubus Trial stage Note: Dream walking and manipulation is a spell shared by most succubi and incubi, the male counterpart. In many myths they were believed to enter the dreams of the opposite sex in order to manipulate and feed, though they more commonly fed through a simple kiss in person. This might’ve brought about the belief of being shapeshifters. Dream Walking/Dream Manipulation* Casting Time: Ranges from 12 seconds to a minute, depending on easily she can get comfortable, relaxed and etc. Range: Spreads out to max of 1 mile area with her at the center. Duration: Until the individual wakes, she is pushed out or willingly leaves the dream. To order to activate, Lily must get comfortable and clear her mind to slip into a form of mediation. Gradually she builds up vis into a soft and fine mist as it spreads throughout the mile area to seek out people who are sleeping soundly. Due to her profession and long life, she’s able to narrow her focus on an individual if she chose to. However, to do this she must have an accurate image, namely a picture or have met them because just a name will not be enough. Upon locating the subject, she causes a dream to surface and enters it. Within it, her ability to dream manipulate is almost limitless and she can bend almost any element to her whim. Neither individual can be harmed or forced against their will while in the dream and though she can shift elements of it or change her shape. When the dreamer wakes she is abruptly kicked from the dream and shot back into her body. She also can’t keep them from waking up when they realize what is happening. After she’s ejected, she can immediately tell exactly where the target was within her radius but it doesn’t mean they will be there should she or others go after them. Those, from Humans to Prae, with dream influencing abilities are able to shift and twist her creations into something else. Depending on a lot of factors -aka agreement between players- the individual could overwhelm her own influence in the dream and turn the tables on her. [sup]*[/sup] I placed these powers together because they go pretty closely together in how Lily uses them. The Dream Walking is pretty much the entrance into a trance like state, location of a sleeping individual within the radius of her location, creating and finally entering it. Dream Manipulation is where she can influence the dream itself. What ever happens in a dream doesn’t affect her or her current victim, but memories will remain of what transpired within it.
