"Yes they are. 1 actually takes it up in strength and the other purifies it. You need at least 85% to efficiently combust, the last 2 steps leave it at 95 to 100% pure alcohol. It doesn't actually boost the horsepower technically, the engine just runs cooler cuz alcohol boils at 170. So the operating temps are so much lower, typically an engine like this would operate at 210, with the alcohol it burns at about 180." He arrives at the garage, dropping off the car.
