Midhaven is laid out as follows: There is a tall white palace in the center of the city, with high spires and onion-shaped domes. Just south of it is the Auction House, a boring box structure. In fact, the rest of the city is mainly clay box houses with flat roofs and not much else. That said, the buildings are fairly modular, and can be stacked several times before structural integrity is compromised. The buildings further in are multi-story stores, with the bottom floor reserved for business and the upper floor for residence. Further out are the residential districts where you'll find inns and rental places. On the outermost edges of the city are the abodes of the wealthy, the larger and more ornate houses belonging to captains, generals, and aristocrats. Not all the outer ring is residence though - the northern half is heavy industry. Yeah, the blacksmiths and carpenters are in the center of the city, but the mines, mills, and factories, the real industry of the city, are along the northern rim. Farms and plantations can be found in the surrounding suburbs. Midhaven also contains remnants of the former cultures that lived there. Their water treatment and sewage systems remain among the most advanced in the world, and there is a functioning electric power plant on the outskirts of the city. With the loss of electrical knowledge, however, the plant is now only used to keep the mines and water pumps running.
