[u]The Exile Queen[/u]

In ancient mythology, Valkyries were thought to guide the souls of fallen warriors to the afterlife. The truth was a bit more complicated. Angels often came down to earth in human form to turn the course of the world in the right direction, and the only way for humans to leave their mortal bodies is to die. So whenever an angel's work was completed, an assassin angel, or "valkyrie," would be sent to slay them and guide their souls back. One human witnessed this event, spawning the myth.

Killing the bodies of mortal angels wasn't the only task assigned to the valkyries, however. Their skills made them well-suited to hunting down demons and possessed mortals. With only twelve valkyries in the world and thousands of angels and demons to manage, someone had to decide which targets took priority. That job fell to Freyja, the most competent of the valkyries. Under her leadership, the valkyries successfully restrained the demon hordes for millennia.

Until Freyja herself fell prey to a demon. During a pitched battle against the forces of darkness, a Balrog ensnared her and opened her body to possession through her left eye. A thousand demons poured in, wresting control of her body and using her to assassinate her fellow angels for a hundred years. When she finally managed to drive out the demons from her body, the damage was done. Shamed by her failures, she hunted down the Balrog, stole his two Daemon Blades, and vowed to spend the rest of her life making things right.

[u]Current Role[/u]

Freyja wasn't the only one with sins to atone for. Prophecies foretold of six other individuals gifted with immortality who, after being freed of corruption, would band together to push back against the darkness. She warped to the realm of the Mad God to seek the first one...

[u]Powers & Abilities[/u]

* 2 Daemon Blades: The right-handed one is named Dawn, and the left-handed one is named Dusk. They spawn when she opens her hands and wills them into the mortal plane, and despawn when she lets go of them. They can cut through anything and everything in the physical realm and cannot be stolen (except by touching the handle and dismembering the wielder's hand, which is how Freyja got them).
* Light Magic: Her silver hair possesses the power of light. While the energy can be focused into a damaging beam or spread out for illumination, a more practical use is to break spells and uncover deception. Traps and lies are immediately revealed upon casting Light.
* Healing: Freyja can rapidly heal both herself and others. Speeding up the natural healing processes is cheap, magically speaking, but regenerating lost limbs is much more taxing and can only be done once a day.
* Gauntlets & Greaves: Freyja wears armored gauntlets and greaves with which to block physical strikes. They are more or less unbreakable.
* Grey Cloak & Hood: The fabric of her cloak cannot be torn, cut, or pierced by ordinary means, is flame-retardant and water-resistant, and offers excellent protection from the elements. It won't prevent weapons from harming her, but at least it never needs to be washed or repaired.
* Hidden Strength: Despite her slight build, Freyja is stronger than she looks. She can run long distances without tiring, wrestle grown men to the ground, and wield heavy weapons with ease. Her unarmed attacks hit hard and can be lethal.
* Combat Training: Freyja is familiar with swordfighting, archery, gunfighting, and unarmed combat. She is strongest with swords.
* Warp Pod: A spherical vessel designed to transport a single individual through space and time to any destination of their choice. It forms and disintegrates from its storage place in a pocket dimension. Takes about 10 seconds to form.
* Fairy Dust: A portal on her cloak contains a handful of magic dust, useful for telekinetic manipulation, spellcasting, and general magecraft. Currently, Freyja knows how to use it to create fire, shielding, basic potions, and levitation.
