[sub]We created Mk.2 because Mk.1 came to something of a dead-end, no fresh blood, too much using of the whip, the population was ridiculously low, people got busy, we collectively thought a restart would be for the best.[/sub]

If Mk.1 is ongoing, a transfer of a character's soul from Mk.1 to Mk.2 would happen as such:

Edit: the implication being that they never came back because they were sucked into a wormhole which spat them out in Mk.2
