"Alright, time for a crash course into engines.  ls1 is an engine code.  5.7 liter is amount of air that is pumped in while running.  5.7 ls1 means it is a 350 cubic inch engine, though not all the liters are the same with an engine.  Dodge has a 5.7 that is 360 cubic inches, ford has a 5.8 that is 351 cubic inches.  It all depends on the company.  But your typical family van makes about 200hp with a V6, the typical V8 these days start around 400hp.  The miata, it comes stock with 120hp or so.  Only weighs like a ton.  So with the ls1 it makes nearly 3 times the power of a stock miata and you only add 150 to 200 pounds to the weight of the car."
